B&Q has extended its Deliveroo partnership, adding five larger London stores to its on-demand delivery service. Customers can now access more than 9,500 home improvement products for delivery in as little as 25 minutes.

The expansion builds on the initial launch of the service from B&Q’s smaller high street stores, B&Q Locals, in August 2024.

More London stores join the B&Q Deliveroo trial

From today, customers in Beckton, Sidcup, Watford, Acton, and Romford can order an extended selection of B&Q products for rapid delivery. The expanded range includes paint brands, gardening supplies, storage solutions, home furnishings, and more. By bringing larger stores into the trial, B&Q aims to offer a wider choice to customers looking for fast access to DIY essentials.

Amelie Gallichan-Todd, Supply and Logistics Director at B&Q, said: “We’re constantly looking at ways we can enhance the experience of our customers, and by extending our service with Deliveroo to five of our larger stores, we’re increasing the range of products available, to help meet the increasing consumer demand for speed and convenience as well as options for delivery.”

Growing demand for on-demand DIY delivery

The partnership with Deliveroo reflects the growing demand for on-demand DIY delivery, particularly in urban areas where customers may not have easy access to large home improvement stores. The collaboration allows customers to order everything from paint and tools to home organisation products, helping them complete projects without unnecessary delays.

Suzy McClintock, VP of New Verticals at Deliveroo, said: “We are delighted to expand our partnership with B&Q, adding five larger stores allowing us to deliver thousands of DIY products to even more customers’ doors across London. Our customers value the convenience of ordering everything from masking tape and dust sheets to spanners and paint for on-demand delivery, enabling them to continue their projects without delay.”

Expanding retail partnerships with rapid delivery services

B&Q’s Deliveroo trial aligns with a broader trend of retailers working with delivery platforms to improve customer convenience. As demand for same-day delivery increases, retailers are adapting by offering faster fulfilment options. The latest expansion of the trial indicates a continued commitment to making home improvement products more accessible to London customers.

The service is available through the Deliveroo app, where customers can browse B&Q’s extended product range and place orders for quick delivery.
