Lakeside, one of the United Kingdom’s popular retail and leisure destinations, owned by property company SGS and managed by Global Mutual, is delighted to announce significant upsizes from three international luxury brands.

The latest addition to Lakeside’s prestigious line-up is BOSS, which has signed on to open a larger store at the centre. This follows the recent expansions of TAG Heuer and Goldsmiths, bringing the total space let to permanent occupiers in the past 12 months to 170,000 sq ft.

BOSS will expand into a prime position at the centre, occupying a spacious 4,218 sq ft unit. Currently, the store is temporarily trading from the former Disney unit on the lower mall, near the newly renovated River Island and H Beauty. The expanded and refurbished store is set to reopen in its original location in the summer.

TAG Heuer, renowned for its connection to the world of motorsports, recently unveiled its expanded 431 sq ft showroom. The contemporary interior design reflects its rich heritage, featuring tones of grey and sleek, mirrored units. Goldsmiths, on the other hand, expanded into a 3,714 sq ft space to create the Goldsmiths Boutique, offering a relaxed and experiential in-store environment.

Leading shopping centre joint agents P-THREE and Lunson Mitchenall collaborated with Global Mutual to facilitate these deals, enhancing the offerings at the prominent retail destination.

The news of these expansions follows other recent additions at Lakeside, including regional flagships for Pull & Bear, Stradivarius, and H&M Home, as well as the relocation of M&S.

Lakeside, located in Essex, spans an impressive 1.6 million sq ft and attracts millions of visitors annually. The centre is home to over 250 brands, providing a diverse and vibrant shopping and leisure experience.

Rob Detheridge, Asset Manager at Global Mutual, expressed his satisfaction, stating, “These upsizes demonstrate the strength of our relationships with the brands involved and the excellent performance of existing stores to date. It also highlights the compelling offerings at our centre as a whole. Retailers continue to target prime spaces like ours, where the location and tenant mix are strong, ensuring a healthy footfall. These expansions by well-known brands will further enhance our offerings, and we are confident that visitors will welcome the news.”

P-THREE and Lunson Mitchenall act as joint agents for Lakeside, with CBRE representing BOSS, and TAG Heuer and Goldsmiths managing their respective expansions directly.
