SilkFred has announced a new partnership with wedding planner, coordinator, and expert Georgie Mitchell. Georgie will curate a monthly edit, each with a handpicked theme, and will share insights on SilkFred’s various social media platforms and write for their dedicated fashion blog.
SilkFred was launched in 2011 with the aim of solving the “I have nothing special to wear” dilemma, focusing on fashion for special occasions. Over the years, SilkFred has expanded its wedding options, championing independent brands that offer bridesmaid, bridal, and wedding guest fashion.

To further enhance their wedding offering, SilkFred has partnered with Georgie Mitchell, a successful wedding planner who has worked in the wedding industry since 2011. She now runs her own wedding planning company, Georgina Rose Events. Georgie also co-hosts the chart-topping podcast The Unfiltered Bride and has been featured in publications such as Metro, The Sun, and The Daily Mail.
From the perfect summer bridesmaid dress to mother-of-the-bride outfits suitable for both the ceremony and the dancefloor, Georgie’s expertise will help SilkFred become a one-stop shop for all wedding needs.
Speaking on the partnership, Georgie revealed: “I love working with SilkFred because it offers so much – affordable options that come in different shapes, sizes, styles, and all the items have unique touches that challenge the norm.”
She continued, “The main reason I wanted to work with SilkFred is because they champion smaller brands. It feels a bit like the wedding industry to me – a collective of people working together, where you can find what you are looking for, no matter your taste.”
Georgie explained her plans for the collaboration: “Each month I will be creating bespoke content themes across the edit, social, and the blog. For example, June is mismatched bridesmaid dresses, July will be your Hen Do pack list. I want to give customers more informative content that will help with the lead-up to and on the day of wedding support.”
“It’s so lovely to have been supporting a brand who wants to give experts in their field a voice, rather than just guess!” Georgie added.
