Victoria Leeds, owned and operated by Redical, has announced that luxury women’s fashion brand Hobbs is significantly upsizing its presence at the destination. Hobbs will be relocating from Victoria Quarter to a unit 30% larger in Victoria Gate, reaffirming the brand’s strong performance and commitment to the area. This strategic move consolidates TFG London’s portfolio of brands under one roof, with Hobbs joining Phase Eight and Whistles at Victoria Gate.

Set to open in November, the new 4,200 sq ft flagship store will allow Hobbs to offer an expanded range of its signature women’s clothing, shoes, accessories, and occasion wear, meeting increased customer demand at Victoria Leeds. The relocation from Victoria Quarter to Victoria Gate enables Hobbs to be situated alongside other TFG London brands, while complementing a line-up of leading British retailers already established at the destination, including The White Company, Mint Velvet, NEOM Wellbeing, and Pour Moi.

Hobbs to open at Victoria Gate

The relocation comes at a time when Victoria Leeds is experiencing record-breaking footfall, with a significant rise in visitor numbers to Victoria Gate during the first half of 2024 compared to the previous year. This surge in traffic highlights the destination’s ongoing success, attributed to the proactive management by new owners Redical. Immersive events, such as the recent Fashion Week and a sold-out catwalk event, have driven higher customer engagement and solidified Victoria Leeds as a leading retail destination.

Rachel Bradburn, Leasing Director at Victoria Leeds, commented: “This latest announcement further cements Victoria Leeds’ position as one of the UK’s most trusted premium and luxury retail destinations. We are welcoming more visitors than ever before to Victoria Gate, which is a testament to high-calibre brands reinvesting and recommitting with us, like those in the TFG London portfolio. It also reflects Redical’s ongoing commitment to provide an exceptional curated retail mix and customer experience.”

Caroline Money, Global Group Director at TFG Brands, echoed this sentiment, saying: “The decision to relocate to a larger unit at Victoria Leeds is a clear reflection of the increased demand in a key catchment area for us, and brings three of our brands – Hobbs, Phase Eight, and Whistles – together under the one roof of Victoria Gate. We are excited for our loyal customers to now enjoy an elevated experience, with a wider selection of Hobbs’ timeless pieces.”

Continued Growth for Victoria Leeds

Hobbs’ upsize and relocation follow the recent openings of Barbour and Le Labo in Victoria Quarter. British heritage brand Barbour opened its first standalone store in Leeds, debuting its new ‘heritage’ design concept in the historic district. Iconic New York perfumery Le Labo also made its regional debut at Victoria Leeds, further enhancing the destination’s curated mix of premium and lifestyle brands.

The ongoing success of Victoria Gate and Victoria Quarter is reflected in the strong performance of its retailers and the growing interest from high-profile brands. With Hobbs’ move to a larger space, Victoria Leeds continues to strengthen its position as a leading luxury retail destination in the UK.

Lunson Mitchenall and Central Retail acted on behalf of Victoria Leeds, while Braiser Freeth represented Hobbs in the deal.
