CBRE Investment Management has finalised the ground-floor leasing of its Islington retail and leisure destination, Angel Central, by signing an agreement with Thérapie Clinic. This new addition brings Europe’s leading aesthetic medical centre to Angel Central, where it will open a 2,172 sq ft facility later this year. The clinic will be located alongside existing retailers, including Rituals and the recently upgraded Accessorize, and will add a new dimension to the centre’s offerings with medical-grade laser hair removal, body sculpting and toning, cosmetic injections, and skin treatments.

The opening of Therapie Clinic marks the final phase of Angel Central’s ground-floor leasing strategy, aligning with the centre’s focus on diversifying its tenant mix to appeal to the community’s evolving retail and wellness needs. The clinic joins other anchor stores such as Uniqlo and H&M, as well as aspirational brands Mango, KIKO Milano, and Oliver Bonas, all of which have established a strong presence at Angel Central this year.

Angel Central’s strategic additions have led to exceptional performance, with sales rising by 34.8% during Q3 of this year and an 11.4% increase on a like-for-like basis. This growth underscores the success of recent tenants, along with strong contributions from existing retailers. Additionally, footfall has grown by 2.6% compared to Q3 2023 and by 3.7% over the same period in 2019, with year-to-date sales currently up 25.8% overall and 8.1% on a like-for-like basis.

Ciara Daffy, Asset Manager at CBRE Investment Management, highlighted the significance of the recent addition: “There have been several leading brands arrive at Angel Central in the last twelve months, and it’s fantastic to round off our ground-floor leasing with Thérapie Clinic. These openings, combined with our solid performance so far this year, really signify the strength of Angel Central and the success we have in serving the needs of our community. We’ve highlighted that it’s not just about bringing in new names but stimulating growth with existing retailers too, and we are on track to driving forward one of Angel Central’s most successful years post-refurbishment.”

Angel Central’s location in the heart of Islington has helped it become a popular destination, offering a wide variety of retail and leisure options. Alongside major retailers like MUJI, Flying Tiger, L’Occitane, and OFFICE, the centre features an extensive food and beverage selection, with eateries including Wagamama, itsu, Saint Espresso, Northwood, and Birdies. The strategic repositioning to incorporate both high-street retail and innovative social and wellness brands has solidified Angel Central’s reputation as a comprehensive lifestyle hub.

The leasing and management of Angel Central are handled by CBRE and Colliers, who continue to guide the development of the centre to meet community needs and attract a diverse tenant base. As Angel Central continues to grow, it sets a model for retail and leisure destinations that balance traditional retail with experiential and wellness-focused services.
