Jollyes, the UK’s award-winning pet superstore, has announced plans to open five new stores, refurbish five existing locations, and introduce simplified low pricing across its entire store network. These strategic moves underline the company’s commitment to delivering value and expanding its footprint, bringing its combination of affordability and pet care expertise to even more communities in 2025.

Jollyes will open five new stores in Pontefract (West Yorkshire), Chichester (West Sussex), Swansea (Glamorgan), Chesterfield (Derbyshire), and a relocated site in Perth (Scotland). All new locations will feature Jollyes’ popular raw food frozen ‘shop-in-shop’ concept and community pet clinics, offering affordable vet services such as vaccinations and microchipping.

The refurbishment programme will include upgrades to stores in Selby (North Yorkshire), Waterlooville (Hampshire), Sheffield (South Yorkshire), Harlow (Essex), and Keighley (West Yorkshire). These overhauled stores will introduce new pet clinic rooms, expanded raw frozen food sections, and Jollyes’ innovative ‘Wash & Go’ dog-wash stations. The dog-wash units, priced at £5 per use, will also be rolled out to new locations in Colchester, Bolton, Selby, Harlow, and Plymouth, with upgrades planned for existing units in Scunthorpe, Enfield, Newport (Isle of Wight), Totton, and Waterlooville.

In a move that breaks away from industry trends, Jollyes has re-invested savings previously exclusive to its Pet Club members into simple, on-shelf pricing for all customers. This change, introduced today, reduces over 3,000 prices across its 100-plus stores, covering more than two-thirds of the 4,500 core items it carries. The multi-million-pound investment means that the price displayed on the shelf is the price customers pay, with no need for loyalty discounts.

CEO Joe Wykes commented: “We understand how much joy a pet brings to families, but we also know the cost of that commitment is high, especially when household budgets are under pressure. That’s why we’re simplifying our prices, so customers won’t need to be a member to get the value that pet parents demand. Being relentless in lowering prices to deliver on our promise to be the best value pet store in town is at the heart of our DNA.”

Jollyes also celebrated a record-breaking 2024, with 14 new store openings and its biggest-ever trading day on 23rd December, serving over 42,000 customers. Total sales during the four weeks leading to Christmas grew 13%, with like-for-like sales increasing by 6%.

As part of its long-term strategy, Jollyes continues to expand its community pet clinics, making essential services more affordable. Vaccination prices, for example, have dropped from £44 to £39, widening the price gap between Jollyes and traditional vet services.

Jollyes is also investing in its workforce, introducing enhanced benefits for its 1,250 employees in 2025. Maternity leave has been extended to six months of full pay (up from six weeks), paternity leave has doubled to four weeks, and additional leave is now available for fertility treatments, neonatal care, and baby loss.

In partnership with Rest Less, the Fair Chance Business Alliance, and the Armed Forces Covenant, Jollyes is broadening its recruitment efforts to offer career opportunities to diverse candidates, including over-50s, ex-service personnel, and individuals with criminal records.
