JYSK is planning to open its first stores in Cyprus in spring 2027, marking the Danish home furnishing chain’s expansion into a new Mediterranean market.
The family-owned retailer, founded by Danish tradesman Lars Larsen in 1979, expects to open between two and four stores initially. In the longer term, JYSK aims to open a total of ten stores in the Republic of Cyprus.

The Cyprus stores will form part of JYSK’s Greek organisation, with the retailer expecting the expansion to create up to 80 local jobs.
“Expansion is part of JYSK’s DNA, so we are always looking for growth, and we know that when you get a great offer, you have to go for it. We believe that JYSK will stand out positively, and we are convinced that our great offers within Scandinavian home furnishing will also be attractive to customers in Cyprus, just as they are in the rest of Europe,”
Rami Jensen, President & CEO of JYSK
Recruitment Underway In Cyprus
Recruitment for the first District Manager in Cyprus is already underway, with the position attracting almost 100 applicants so far.
“We are proud of the interest that already exists in Cyprus to work at JYSK. Cyprus is an interesting market with good opportunities to expand through our organisation in Greece, where we already have close to 70 stores with good growth and a well-established organisation that is ready to welcome new colleagues,”
Rami Jensen, President & CEO of JYSK
The latest country in which JYSK opened stores was Morocco, where two stores launched in April 2025. With the planned opening in Cyprus, JYSK will be present in 50 countries. Of these, 30 will be operated with its own stores, while the remaining 20 are run by local franchisees.
