British home-fragrance brand Droplet has unveiled a dedicated display in the Home department at Selfridges, introducing its new Scent Amplifier ahead of the product’s wider release on 13 August 2026.

The installation gives Selfridges first access to the product and presents the Scent Amplifier alongside Droplet’s existing Scent Burner. Technical information within the display explains the differences between the two fragrance formats, allowing customers to compare their materials, operation and methods of scent diffusion.

Droplet’s complete incense collection has also joined the department as a permanent fixture, extending the brand’s presence beyond the temporary product launch.

Display Compares Two Approaches To Home Fragrance

The Selfridges presentation places product comparison at the centre of the customer experience.

Droplet’s existing Scent Burner uses water, fragrance oil and heat from a tealight to release scent. The new Scent Amplifier instead uses a waterless diffusion system to disperse fragrance oil in controlled bursts.

By displaying the two products together, the installation demonstrates how Droplet is developing its offer from a more traditional scent ritual into active, rechargeable diffusion.

The display also allows the materials and components of each product to be examined in person. This is particularly relevant to the Scent Amplifier, which has been developed as both a technical device and a sculptural home object.

Waterless And Portable Diffusion

The Scent Amplifier represents Droplet’s first move into active scent diffusion and is the brand’s most technically developed product to date.

Once the control dial is turned, the device diffuses fragrance for three minutes before resting for two minutes. This repeated cycle is intended to distribute scent steadily around a room rather than releasing it in a single concentrated burst.

The rechargeable system provides up to 15 hours of portable diffusion on a full charge. As it does not require heat or water, it can be moved between rooms and operated without remaining connected to a power supply.

Each compatible 10ml fragrance bottle contains approximately 200 drops. Droplet recommends using between 15 and 20 drops for each session.

“We kept asking ourselves a simple question: if we can control our music, our lighting and even the temperature of a room, why can’t we control scent?”
“The Scent Amplifier changes that by giving people complete control over how fragrance fills a space, wrapped in an object designed to live beautifully in the home.”

Materials Position The Device As A Display Object

The Scent Amplifier combines a walnut-toned wooden base with a hand-blown crystal glass vessel.

Its base is hand-cut and polished, while an oxidised silver dial provides control over the diffusion intensity. A warm tungsten light illuminates when the device enters scent mode, providing a visual indication that it is operating.

The choice of wood, glass and metal supports Droplet’s wider approach to home fragrance, in which burners, diffusers and related accessories are intended to remain visible within an interior.

This design-led treatment is reflected in the Selfridges display, where the product is presented as a home object rather than solely as a functional electrical appliance.

Six Fragrances Developed In Grasse

The Scent Amplifier works with six Droplet fragrance oils developed in Grasse, France. The collection covers floral, fruity, citrus, earthy and woody profiles, with each scent connected to a particular place.

  • Château Grass: Green grass, mint and magnolia, with a reference to the Côte d’Azur on the French Riviera.
  • Berry Oasis: Wild berry, bergamot and osmanthus, connected to the Swiss Alps.
  • Figtropolis: Fig leaf, iris and cedarwood, drawing on the Acropolis in Athens.
  • Rose Blvd.: Rose, jasmine and cardamom, linked to Sun Ranch in Hollywood, California.
  • Mandarin Peel: Orange blossom, tuberose and magnolia, with a reference to the Mekong River in Vietnam.
  • Mimosa Del Sol: Mimosa, manuka and peony, connected to Playa La Pastora in Baja California.

All six oils are vegan and cruelty-free and are supplied in 10ml bottles designed for use with the Scent Amplifier.

Permanent Incense Collection At Selfridges

Alongside the Scent Amplifier launch, Droplet’s complete incense collection has been introduced to Selfridges as a permanent fixture.

The arrangement gives the brand two forms of presence within the Home department: a focused display for the new product and an ongoing retail position for its established incense range.

It also enables customers encountering Droplet through the Scent Amplifier to explore the wider collection within the same department.

The move forms part of Droplet’s developing physical retail strategy, which includes a current installation at Dover Street Market Paris and distribution through Liberty, END. and Kith.

Founded By The Siblings Behind Ripple+

Droplet was founded by siblings Sam and Lucie Beecham, who previously established wellness business Ripple+ in 2019.

The home-fragrance project initially operated as Ripple+home before developing into a standalone brand. Droplet made its independent global debut in May 2026, combining fragrance development in Grasse with product design and brand development in London.

The founders grew up in a family connected to cosmetics and bath products, giving them early exposure to fragrance development and product testing. That background informed Droplet’s focus on the relationship between scent, interiors, mood and memory.

“We’ve spent our whole lives around fragrance. Growing up, it was never just a product – it was something that made our home feel different, that sparked conversation, that created memories. Droplet is our way of sharing that feeling with the world. We want every piece to earn its place in someone’s home, and to genuinely change how they feel when they walk into a room.”

Collaborations Extend The Brand’s Reach

Droplet has also developed collaborations that position its fragrance products within fashion, sport and contemporary lifestyle retail.

Its partnership with Houseplant, the lifestyle company co-founded by Seth Rogen, produced an Ash & Scent Set combining a marble ashtray with four incense fragrances: Sweet Herb, Old Money Leather, Baked Goods and Rich Pine.

The brand has also worked with Paris Saint-Germain on a limited-edition incense collection linked to the French football club.

These projects sit alongside Droplet’s principal offer of incense, scent burners, wax warmers, reed diffusers, fragrance oils and home accessories.

The Scent Amplifier is available first through the Droplet display in Selfridges’ Home department before its wider release on 13 August 2026.
