For the first time in its history, MAPIC – the international retail property market – will host a shop in its exhibition area, result of a partnership between Etam and Retail Reload, where ‘the best of tomorrow’s technologies’ will be unveiled.
MAPIC 2021 will be held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from Tuesday 30 November to Thursday 2 December. It will feature an exhibition area, high-level conference sessions live-streamed on the MAPIC digital platform and numerous networking opportunities.
This year Etam will transform its stand into a real omnichannel pop-up store where participants will be able to enjoy a conventional shopping experience. A world first, this 40 sq-m pop-up stand will allow participants to experience the Easy shopping RFID customer experience technologies developed by Retail Reload. Etam’s concept store will provide an innovative experience for consumers who will be able to undertake the following:
- Consult the available stock on screen (the stock is updated in real time: items being tried on, and therefore temporarily unavailable, do not appear)
- Order on the Etam website and pick up your order by Click & Collect on the stand within the hour (the order is prepared on site)
- Pay using a mobile checkout
- Make use of an intelligent fitting room with automatic reading of items tried on (RFID detection), exchange or complementary try-on service without leaving the room (try & change) and recommendations adapted according to the stock available in the shop
“More than ever, innovation and technology for the benefit of the customer experience are driving MAPIC. Omnichannel transformation is at the heart of strategies of the retail industry. I am proud to host the world’s premiere of a real Etam shop fully equipped with RFID. Our participants will be able to experience new digital customer experiences and integrate them into their future retail outlets,” explains Nathalie Depetro, director of MAPIC.
