Robert Hitchins Ltd has appointed Adrian Field to lead the on-site management team of the highly-anticipated Cotswolds Designer Outlet in Tewkesbury. The news of Field’s appointment aligns with the development’s construction milestone, as the project marks one year of progress, aiming for a Spring 2025 launch.

Field joins the project as Centre Manager, bringing with him extensive experience from managing town and city centres, shopping destinations, and Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) across the region, including in Cardiff, Worcester, Malvern, Warwick, and, most recently, Redditch. Leveraging his deep knowledge of retail destinations, Field is set to collaborate with local stakeholders and both retail and food and beverage (F&B) brands to attract investment, drive footfall, and enhance the destination’s appeal within the community and wider region. His role will also involve creating a customer experience that builds long-term loyalty and community impact.

Reflecting on his appointment, Adrian Field, Centre Manager of the Cotswolds Designer Outlet, commented: “I’m delighted to join Cotswolds Designer Outlet at such an important milestone in the project programme. Living in the region, I’ve been following the project closely and with great interest, and I believe it’s set to play an important role in contributing to the local economy. Seeing the development come to life on-site is inspiring, and the strong interest from top brands reaffirms its potential as a premier destination. My focus now is on building a skilled, collaborative team to deliver a seamless and memorable launch, and setting the highest standards of guest experience and customer service. Success here is all about partnership – that our retail brands, partners, and local stakeholders are all working together to create an outstanding shopping and dining destination that’s both aspirational and welcoming, and firmly established as part of the region’s tourism appeal.”

Simon Tothill, Property & Development Director at Robert Hitchins Ltd, also welcomed Field to the team, noting his critical role in establishing Cotswolds Designer Outlet as a destination for both the local area and visitors from further afield. Tothill stated: “We’re pleased to welcome Adrian to the team; his expertise will be essential in shaping Cotswolds Designer Outlet into a must-visit retail and dining destination for the region, and beyond. Tremendous effort from the teams at Robert Hitchins and leasing partner Multi-Realm has gone into curating a standout mix of fashion, lifestyle, homewares, sports, and F&B brands that will add significantly to Cotswolds Designer Outlet’s appeal. With over 80% of space already committed—seven months before opening—the high interest from brands reflects their enthusiasm to attract new customers with a premium experience, offering quality and great outlet value.”

Located at Tewkesbury Junction 9 on the M5, the Cotswolds Designer Outlet is now less than seven months from opening, with 82% of its retail space either secured or in legal negotiations. The outlet will feature a selection of popular fashion, lifestyle, sports, and F&B brands, along with local specialist retailers. Expected to create up to 500 jobs in the area, the development is also recruiting operations and marketing specialists, with Multi-Realm, the outlet’s management partner, actively forming a comprehensive on-site team to support the launch.
