Eldon Square has announced that Søstrene Grene, the Danish retail chain, will be opening its first store in the North East this summer.
Occupying a spacious 5,000 sq ft unit on the Upper Mall next to Swarovski, the new store will provide an exceptional shopping experience featuring the brand’s unique Scandinavian-inspired, affordable products. From homeware and kitchenware to stationery and craft supplies, the store will bring the heart of Scandinavian design to Newcastle.
Each visit to the store is crafted to inspire creativity and joy, featuring a carefully curated selection of responsibly sourced products. The tranquil and immersive shopping environment, including classical music, creative product displays, and surprises around every corner, aims to create a space where the pace of everyday life slows down. Søstrene Grene’s layout encourages discovery with new products introduced regularly, including seasonal collections, creative DIY kits, and a variety of items for home decor and gifting.
With over 30 stores across the UK, Eldon Square’s store will contribute to the brand’s ambitious expansion across the UK, with plans to open 100 new stores by 2030. In line with their commitment to sustainability, the new store will emphasise eco-friendly practices, using sustainable materials and focusing on reducing environmental impact. To further enhance the customer experience, the store will also feature areas dedicated to workshops and events where customers can engage in crafting activities and learn new skills.
