Holland & Barrett is preparing to launch two new stores on London’s Oxford Street, located at opposite ends of the iconic shopping destination. The openings are set to take place ahead of January, a key period for wellness-focused consumers.
The first store, at 385 Oxford Street near Bond Street station, occupies 2,282 sq ft. The second, located at 146/148 Oxford Street near Tottenham Court Road, measures over 1,500 sq ft. Both locations are positioned to serve the approximately 200 million visitors Oxford Street receives annually, with daily footfall reaching up to 30,000.
Both stores will showcase expanded ranges of Holland & Barrett’s wellness solutions, including its newly extended H&B Food range. Developed by the company’s nutritionists and chefs, the range includes food products tailored to specific dietary and wellness needs, such as gut health and skin support. The stores will also highlight Holland & Barrett’s ‘Plant Points’ initiative, which encourages customers to diversify their diets by consuming at least 30 different plants weekly.
Expert colleagues will be available in each store to provide personalised wellness guidance. This includes advice from a Women’s Health Coach, who will offer support on topics such as hormone health. The team has over 50 years of combined experience and speaks multiple languages, including Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, Italian, Polish, Indian, and French, to accommodate a diverse customer base.
The openings form part of Holland & Barrett’s ongoing retail investment programme, which includes refits, relocations, and the launch of over 200 new or refurbished stores across the UK and Ireland. The company has committed approximately £70 million to this initiative, with a focus on enhancing store experiences. Throughout FY24 and into FY25, Holland & Barrett is refreshing or refurbishing at least one store per day as part of its plans.
Sustainability is central to the design of the new stores. They incorporate materials such as mild steel, which is 100% recyclable, and FSC-certified wood. Energy-efficient LED lighting has been installed to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. Where possible, materials from older stores have been repurposed to minimise waste in line with the company’s sustainability goals.
Sean Quane, H&B Regional Manager, commented:
“As we head towards a new year of wellness, we look forward to opening the doors to customers in not one, but two stores in our new prominent location on Oxford Street. Moving our Oxford Street store closer to the Oxford Street station and opening a brand-new store outside Bond Street station. Our expert colleagues have over 50 years of combined experience at H&B, speaking languages such as Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, Italian, Polish, Indian, and French. The team have received additional training, enabling them to offer our customers personalised advice across health and wellness. We look forward to welcoming new customers into our stores and supporting the community on their wellness journeys.”
