Braehead, managed by property company SGS and asset managed by Global Mutual with Savills as property managers, has expanded its beauty offerings by welcoming Italian cosmetics brand KIKO Milano. The brand has opened a new store, spanning approximately 1,000 sq ft, on the Upper Level of the shopping centre.
The new KIKO Milano store, which has commenced operations under a 10-year lease agreement, offers a wide array of beauty products, including makeup, and face and body treatments. This launch is part of a broader strategy, as the brand currently operates 25 stores across the UK and is in the midst of an aggressive expansion, planning to open several more stores in key shopping districts within the country this year.
Braehead continues to enhance its health and beauty sector, following the success of opening Scotland’s largest Superdrug last year and recently adding Bodycare to its roster of stores. Positioned just outside Glasgow, Braehead spans 1.1 million sq ft and attracts approximately 2.1 million visitors from its catchment area. The centre boasts a diverse mix of retail brands including major household names like M&S, Apple, Primark, TK Maxx, and NEXT, alongside exciting local and independent brands.
Paul Devin, UK and Ireland Managing Director for KIKO Milano, expressed his enthusiasm about the new store:
“The launch of KIKO Milano into Braehead Shopping Centre marks a significant milestone for the brand with our first store in Scotland as part of our expansion plan. Braehead is a premium destination for the beauty shopper, and our partnership extends the accessibility of KIKO’s wide range of high-performance beauty products to an important new demographic.”
Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, also commented on the new addition:
“KIKO Milano is a great addition to Braehead’s health and beauty offer and builds on the momentum created by the opening of Superdrug last year and Bodycare last month. We know the new store will be a hit with our shoppers – helping to drive footfall and spend. Braehead remains a top attraction for the area and the openings are indicative of the continued strength of physical retail. We have further updates in the pipeline and look forward to announcing more positive news in due course.”
