Market Halls, one of the UK’s largest food hall operators, is thrilled to announce significant milestones in its journey towards expansion. The Gees Court backed company reports increased revenue while securing a prime location for its fourth London site at West London’s newest destination, Paddington Square.

Market Halls’ strong financial performance underscores its trajectory of success, with a remarkable 155% increase in revenue to £22 million in the 12 months leading to July 2023. This exceptional growth sets the stage for the company’s ambitious plans to cultivate new food halls across the UK.

The group, which currently operates three sites in London – Victoria, Oxford Street and Canary Wharf – has announced the opening of a fourth food hall. The latest addition to Market Halls’ portfolio is the coveted Paddington Square. Nestled within the new mixed-use development, the food hall is prominently located in the new 1.35-acre piazza. Market Halls’ 11,000 square feet space will feature eight food traders, two bars, an outdoor terrace, and seating for 500 customers. The site is scheduled to open in the final quarter of this year.

Andy Lewis-Pratt, CEO of Market Halls, comments: “Securing our fourth venue in such an iconic London location is hugely exciting for us and we are very excited to be working closely with the team at Paddington Square as part of such an exciting development. Our team is working hard behind the scenes to make this the best Market Halls yet!”

Market Halls joins the first wave of tenants announced to open at Paddington Square, the Renzo Piano-designed building, located in the heart of Paddington and the gateway to and from Heathrow and the Southwest of England, where millions of domestic and international passengers will pass through annually.

In addition to its expansion within London, Market Halls has plans to unveil its first regional site later this year. With a robust pipeline of two to three sites set to open in the upcoming year, Market Halls remains committed to its vision of expansion in major UK cities and regional hubs. Target cities include Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Liverpool, Leeds, Cardiff, Manchester, Glasgow, and Edinburgh.

This strategic expansion reflects Market Halls’ dedication to providing diverse and high-quality dining experiences across the UK. By extending its presence to key regional cities, Market Halls aims to offer its unique food hall concept to a broader audience, reinforcing its position as a leader in the UK’s food hall sector.
