Primark has officially opened its first-ever standalone Primark Home store today, 6th March, in Belfast. The launch marks a £2 million investment in the city centre and has created 43 new jobs, bringing Primark’s total workforce in Belfast to over 400 and more than 1,300 across Northern Ireland.
The store, located in Fountain House on Donegall Place, sits just a short distance from Primark’s flagship Bank Buildings store. Representatives from Belfast City Council, Belfast One, and Belfast Chamber of Commerce joined Primark colleagues for the opening ceremony, with Lord Mayor of Belfast Cllr Micky Murray cutting the ribbon to officially welcome customers.

A dedicated homeware destination
The launch of Primark Home comes as demand for the retailer’s home collection continues to grow. Offering everything from everyday essentials to on-trend soft furnishings, decorative pieces, and small furniture, the store provides an extensive homeware selection at Primark’s signature affordable prices.
Among customer favourites are cotton bedding collections, unique kitchen ceramics, and seasonal décor trends. Tablescaping, once a Christmas trend, has extended to Easter, with Easter wreaths and large-scale decorations gaining popularity.

Fintan Costello, Head of Primark Ireland and Northern Ireland, said:
“This is a big step forward for the Primark brand as we continue to evolve our offering in line with the needs and wants of our loyal customers. We’ve seen a real surge in interest for our homeware ranges which is why we’re thrilled to launch the world’s first-ever Primark Home store in Belfast today. Ever since the reopening of our Bank Buildings store, the shoppers of Belfast have really embraced Primark and we’re incredibly proud to bring further investment to the city in return. The opening of this standalone store has also given us the opportunity to enhance Bank Buildings, where we can now offer bigger and better kids’ and menswear departments.”

Exclusive collections and Pinterest collaboration
The Primark Home opening coincides with the launch of the retailer’s first Pinterest-inspired homeware collection, featuring spring floral crockery, soft pink frill bedding, neutral ceramics, and stylish tableware. Customers can style their homes digitally before purchasing, using Pinterest Collages, an interactive tool that allows users to curate their vision with cutouts of Primark products.
Belfast shoppers can also attend free Pinterest Collage masterclasses at Primark Home Donegall Place on 15th and 16th March, offering design inspiration and styling tips.
Additionally, Belfast customers will get early access to an exclusive Primark Home Edit collection, four weeks ahead of its wider UK release.
