Redical, the UK real estate owner and operator founded by Mikko Syrjanen and Petteri Barman, has appointed Savills as the property manager for its core UK retail and leisure destinations. Savills will manage the portfolio, which includes Victoria Leeds, The Liberty Romford, and Clayton Square Liverpool, covering a total of nearly 1.2 million sq ft and drawing a combined annual footfall of 32 million. In addition, Savills Sustainability consultancy will support Redical in developing and implementing an ESG-focused strategy across these assets.

Savills will oversee property management functions including rent collection, tenant engagement, service charge management, and supervision of on-site staff, aligning with Redical’s strategy to enhance commercial performance and value through incremental transformations across its core properties. Mikko Syrjanen, co-founder of Redical, explained, “Our belief is that significant enhancements to commercial performance and value can be achieved through a process we describe as transformation through accumulation—making a number of smaller, but no less significant, changes and enhancements to our core assets that together drive improved performance. As property management experts, Savills will play a fundamental role in implementing these transformative changes.”

Redical has also appointed Savills Sustainability consultancy to shape an ESG strategy that incorporates input from internal and external stakeholders, setting a foundation for long-term sustainability goals, including GRESB scoring improvements. This new sustainability-focused partnership aims to advance Redical’s commitment to responsible and environmentally conscious business practices. Brad Johnson, Director of Sustainability at Savills, noted, “The development of an ESG-specific strategy and roadmap demonstrates Redical’s broader approach and long-term commitment to embedding sustainability into the heart of their business…we look forward to working with such a forward-thinking organisation.”

Savills’ property management and sustainability teams are already making progress. At The Liberty Romford, they have facilitated a new brand identity and wayfinding enhancements. In Leeds, tenant activations like a sold-out Fashion Week are enriching visitor experiences, while Clayton Square has expanded its offerings to include more food, beverage, and leisure options, diversifying its appeal.
