Superdrug, the popular health and beauty retailer, has opened a new and expanded store at Braehead.
The new store, which is the brand’s largest in Scotland, spans 11,000 sq ft and offers the full range of Superdrug’s healthcare and beauty products, as well as an eyebrow threading concession. The store has been relocated to a central space on the ground floor of the mall, positioning it at the heart of the centre.
Braehead, which is owned by property company SGS and managed by Global Mutual, covers 1.1 million sq ft and serves a catchment of approximately 2.1 million people. It boasts a diverse mix of retail brands, including popular household names such as M&S, Apple, FLANNELS, GAP, and NEXT, as well as unique local and independent brands. The expanded space at Superdrug has been secured on a 10-year lease, ahead of a raft of other exciting new store openings planned for Braehead in 2023.
Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, said: “We’re delighted to see the opening of Scotland’s largest Superdrug at Braehead, and we know that our shoppers will be too. This news is a testament to the strong relationship we have with the Superdrug team, and the success of the previous store. We’re seeing an increasing number of tenants upsizing to larger stores across our centres, which we expect to continue as footfall recovers.”
