Shoplight has announced a new partnership with retail industry charity the Retail Trust through its Buy Blue initiative, aimed at supporting retail workers and promoting sustainability. This collaboration allows Shoplight customers to contribute to the Retail Trust by purchasing from the Buy Blue biopolymer lighting range, with 2% of each sale donated to the charity.
The funds raised from Buy Blue sales will be used to support the Retail Trust’s array of services to protect the hope, health and happiness of the UK’s retail workforce, which include a 24-hour wellbeing helpline, financial aid, counselling and accredited training.
The charity works with more than 200 retailers, including WHSmith, bp and Next, to help improve their staff’s mental health and also runs five supported living estates across the country for people retired from the industry.
The Buy Blue range is identifiable by distinctive blue lozenges on track spotlights and blue reflector rings on recessed downlights and spotlights. This lighting range is part of Shoplight’s commitment to sustainability, featuring 3D-printed, UK-made biopolymer products that significantly reduce carbon emissions associated with manufacturing, transportation, and usage.
Shoplight’s collaboration with the Retail Trust underscores its commitment to the welfare of retail workers, recognising their critical role in the success of the retail sector. The initiative not only aids the charity but also promotes environmentally friendly retail lighting solutions.
