Braehead has recently expanded its retail offerings with the opening of a new TK Maxx store. The property, managed by Global Mutual and owned by SGS, welcomes this addition as part of its ongoing development.

The newly opened TK Maxx store, covering 27,000 square feet, is set to provide shoppers with a range of affordable brands and designer labels. This store, prominently located on the ground floor next to M&S, adds to the diverse shopping options available at Braehead.

TK Maxx joins an array of retail outlets at Braehead, including established brands such as Apple, H&M, and Boots. This addition is part of a series of recent enhancements at the centre, which also include the opening of Scotland’s largest Superdrug, Sports Direct, Quiz, Poundland, Yankee Candle, and The Fragrance Shop.

Situated off junction 26 of the M8, just outside Glasgow, Braehead covers an area of 1.1 million square feet and draws shoppers from a catchment area of approximately 2.1 million. The centre is characterized by a variety of retail brands, including well-known names like M&S, Apple, Primark, and NEXT, as well as several local and independent brands, offering a comprehensive shopping experience.

Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, commented on the new store’s opening: “It is great to see TKMaxx open its doors at the centre [today]. Household name brands like this one act as a real draw for shoppers and we know there will be a real buzz around the opening – especially as we head into the festive shopping period. The new store will broaden our fashion and homeware offer, helping to keep the shopper experience fresh and compelling. We’ve welcomed a number of new brands and seen existing ones grow their footprint at Braehead over recent months – reflecting the continued resilience of physical retail in prime locations like our own. We’ve had a strong year at the centre overall and are optimistic about the months ahead.”

The opening of TK Maxx, secured on a 15-year lease, is a significant development for Braehead, marking a continued investment in the centre’s retail diversity. The arrival of this store and others in recent months highlights the relevance and appeal of physical retail spaces, particularly in well-frequented locations, and reinforces Braehead’s role as a shopping destination.
