In a unique venture, Greggs has partnered with Fenwick to introduce ‘Bistro Greggs’, a distinctive dining experience at Fenwick’s Newcastle location. This innovative restaurant, a first of its kind, marks a significant moment as it represents the collaborative efforts of two brands with a combined history of 225 years. ‘Bistro Greggs’ is poised to offer an 80-seat dining area, featuring a sophisticated twist on classic menu items from Greggs, complemented by a selection of wines from Fenwick Food Hall and a specially crafted cocktail, the Pink Jammie Fizz, designed by Mother Mercy.

The menu at ‘Bistro Greggs’ transforms familiar Greggs offerings into gourmet experiences. For instance, the iconic Greggs Festive Bake is reimagined with luxurious additions such as duck-fat roast potatoes, smoked pancetta, chestnuts, and sprouts, all accompanied by a rich gravy. The Steak Bake also receives a culinary elevation, served with truffled creamy dauphinoise potatoes, green beans, and a touch of almonds. Dessert options include innovative twists on Greggs classics, such as a Greggs Yum Yum with caramel sauce and macadamia brittle, and a unique “Tea and Cake” dish combining a Christmas Cake Slice with an Earl Grey infused Créme Brûlée.

The breakfast and brunch menus are equally inventive. ‘Greggs Benedict’, for example, reinterprets the Greggs Sausage, Bean and Cheese Melt with smoked ham, poached Cacklebean eggs, and Hollandaise sauce. The ‘Full English’ includes the renowned Greggs Sausage Roll, along with traditional accompaniments and offers vegetarian and vegan variations. Additionally, ‘High Tea’ for two features a three-tier sharing brunch with both sweet and savory options, including Sausage Rolls, Yum Yum Bites, and a selection of pastries.

‘Bistro Greggs’ will operate as an all-day dining destination from 1st December to 31st December. The restaurant, located on the department store’s first floor, is designed with a Parisian flair, featuring white-clothed tables, velvet banquette seating, oak-effect flooring, and marble countertops. The entrance showcases a lattice-style pergola, a playful homage to the signature pastry designs of Greggs.

Advance bookings are available for ‘Bistro Greggs’, though walk-ins are also welcome. The exclusive menu, crafted by Greggs and Fenwick’s executive chef Mark Reid, promises a French-inspired culinary journey, blending the popular offerings of Greggs with the gastronomic expertise of Fenwick. This collaborative venture offers a unique dining experience, inviting patrons to explore a redefined take on familiar flavours in a luxurious setting.
