Sovereign Centros has recently announced the opening of Fig & Fox at Festival Place, marking a significant addition to one of the UK’s leading retail and leisure destinations. This move comes on the heels of a thriving pop-up venture at the close of 2023, underscoring Festival Place’s dedication to bolstering local enterprises and catering to the growing consumer appetite for varied, upscale retail options.

Fig & Fox, the brainchild of James and Helen Mitchell, has now unveiled its second permanent storefront, complementing its original location in Romsey. The newly inaugurated store is a treasure trove of design-forward, responsibly sourced merchandise, offering a distinctive assortment of items. This range spans homeware, gifts, greeting cards, jewellery, and a selection of customizable products. In collaboration with local artisans and independent businesses, Fig & Fox aspires to deliver an eclectic shopping experience.

Adding to its charm, the Festival Place outlet includes a takeaway counter featuring expertly brewed hot beverages by Moonroast Coffee, alongside a curated selection of teas from New Forest Tea and artisan hot chocolates from Chococo. Patrons can also enjoy freshly baked goods from Hoxton Bakehouse Southampton, delivered daily.

The premises, expanding over 1,790 square feet—a 50% increase over the pop-up space—hosts an enhanced jewellery collection, over 600 plants, and an array of glass terrariums. Fig & Fox has meticulously crafted the store’s ambience to mirror its brand philosophy, with vintage lighting, soothing background tunes, and dark colour accents to foster a tranquil shopping environment.

Poppy Radford, Asset Manager at Sovereign Centros, lauded the addition: “Festival Place is continually evolving to introduce more premium yet accessible retail brands. Fig & Fox’s transition from a successful pop-up to a permanent establishment here signifies Sovereign Centros’ commitment to enriching our retail landscape. This follows closely after the debut of Rituals, and we are excited to witness Fig & Fox flourish within our community.”

James and Helen Mitchell expressed their enthusiasm: “Launching Fig & Fox was driven by our passion for creativity, sustainability, and the art of gifting. Opening our second store in Festival Place is a momentous milestone for us, setting the stage for an ambitious 2024. We are excited to broaden our product range, enhance our personalization services, and introduce new gift boxes and accessories.”

The unveiling of Fig & Fox at Festival Place follows closely on the heels of the luxury brand Rituals, adding to the destination’s expanding roster of premium offerings. Festival Place has also recently upgraded its food and beverage options with new additions like Chopstix and the upcoming Festival Street Kitchen, further diversifying its appeal to visitors.
