MINISO has opened its first pop-up store in Kraków, extending the lifestyle retailer’s presence into southern Poland.

The temporary store opened on 1 August 2026 at Galeria Krakowska and will operate until 31 August. Located in the shopping centre’s main atrium on level -1, the activation introduces MINISO’s character-led products and collectable ranges to the city through a compact, experience-focused format.

Galeria Krakowska is directly connected to Kraków Central Railway Station and is within walking distance of the city’s historic Old Town. Its position provides access to a mixed audience of residents, commuters, students and international visitors.

For MINISO, the location creates an opportunity to introduce its retail format within a high-footfall city-centre destination while continuing its expansion in Poland and the wider European market.

Character-Led Design Shapes The Pop-Up

The pop-up takes its visual direction from MINISO’s YOYO Fly with the Wind series. A large suspended YOYO installation has been positioned above the store, creating a focal point within the centre’s multi-level atrium.

The installation uses a pastel colour palette across the character feature, counters and product displays. Curved architectural elements frame the temporary space, while illuminated MINISO lettering provides visibility from the surrounding mall levels.

The open design allows shoppers to approach the activation from several directions. Product fixtures are arranged around the perimeter and within the central area, supporting browsing without creating the enclosed layout of a conventional shop unit.

The format places the character installation and product presentation within the same visual environment, using the YOYO collection to establish the identity of the pop-up from its entrance.

Blind Boxes And Collectables Lead The Offer

Collectable toys and blind boxes form a central part of the merchandise selection. Blind boxes are sold in sealed packaging, with the individual character or design remaining unknown until the package is opened.

The Kraków range includes the YOYO Fly with the Wind Series, the Disney Stitch Eat Something Before Sleep Collection and Winnie the Pooh Vinyl Plush products.

By combining licensed character ranges with MINISO’s own intellectual properties, the store reflects the retailer’s wider focus on collectable-led product categories. The temporary format also gives local shoppers an introduction to the brand’s blind-box proposition without requiring a full-scale permanent store.

Alongside their role as merchandise, the products contribute to the visual presentation of the pop-up. Colour-coordinated displays, character graphics and larger sculptural elements are used to connect the individual collections with the overall design.

Opening Activity Draws Local Shoppers

MINISO organised several activities to mark the opening on 1 August. The company invited 150 local fans to visit the pop-up, while its Giftbear mascot appeared within the store and the surrounding atrium.

Images supplied by the retailer show visitors gathering around the activation and examining individual collectable figures. The launch activity placed product discovery and character interaction at the centre of the opening-day programme.

The month-long residency gives MINISO a temporary platform in Kraków during the summer visitor period. It also adds a pop-up format to the company’s existing activity in Poland, where its development has previously focused on permanent stores and larger collectable-led concepts.

Building On MINISO’s Polish Expansion

MINISO describes Poland as one of its more active markets in Central and Eastern Europe, particularly among Gen Z shoppers and consumers interested in pop culture and licensed character products.

The company previously opened a collectable toy concept store in Warsaw. MINISO said the opening attracted large crowds and delivered strong first-day sales, although detailed sales figures were not supplied.

The retailer subsequently opened Poland’s first MINISO flagship store. Covering more than 1,000 square metres, the flagship broadened the offer beyond collectables to include character figures, designer toys, lifestyle accessories and everyday products.

The Kraków pop-up provides a smaller and more flexible format than the Warsaw flagship. Its central-atrium location allows the retailer to build visibility within the shopping centre while assessing the role of temporary activations in its Polish estate.

According to company figures, MINISO Group operated more than 8,500 stores across 112 countries and regions as of March 2026. This included more than 350 European stores and flagship locations in markets including the UK, France, the Netherlands and Poland.

The Kraków store will remain open until 31 August 2026, extending the retailer’s European expansion through a temporary, collectable-led format.
