Never Say Die will open its first brand home in downtown Lexington, Kentucky, in Autumn 2026, bringing together a micro-distillery, English-inspired pub and visitor experience across two floors.

A Transatlantic Story Returns To Kentucky

Work is already under way on the new venue, which draws on the bourbon brand’s transatlantic production story and marks a return to the area where its origins began. Never Say Die Bourbon is distilled and aged for more than six years in Kentucky before its barrels cross the Atlantic for further maturation at White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, England.

The journey takes its inspiration from the namesake Never Say Die racehorse, which was born near Lexington on co-founder Pat Madden’s family farm before going on to win the Epsom Derby at odds of 33-1. Liverpool resident Mona Best placed a winning bet on the horse and used the proceeds to establish the Casbah Coffee Club, where The Beatles played some of their early performances.

Pub And Visitor Experience

The Lexington venue will translate those connections into a hospitality and visitor experience. Its ground floor will operate as an English-inspired pub, serving British pub dishes alongside American favourites, with a drinks range spanning British and European options and Kentucky bourbon.

Regular live music will form part of the programme, referencing the Casbah Coffee Club and its connection with The Beatles.

Upstairs, the visitor journey will explore the Never Say Die story before leading into a tasting room. The experience will begin in a 1950s-style British library, tracing the history of the racehorse and the subsequent creation of the bourbon brand.

Guests will then enter a tasting room using limestone and oak, with a racetrack-shaped tasting table where the core Never Say Die range will be served.

Double Ocean Bourbon And On-Site Production

The experience concludes in a barrel room designed around the character of a traditional Kentucky rickhouse. Visitors will be able to experience and bottle Never Say Die’s forthcoming “Double Ocean” aged Bourbon, which crosses the Atlantic twice in its original barrels, returning to Kentucky following a year of maturation in England.

The expression will be available exclusively at the Lexington brand home. The venue will also initially be the only location in the US selling Never Say Die’s Barrel Strength Bourbon, which has previously been available exclusively in the UK.

The site will operate under its own distilled spirits plant licence, allowing spirits to be produced on site and establishing the venue as a micro-distillery in downtown Lexington.

“The story of our namesake racehorse and the Bourbon that followed is an unbelievable tale, so we are delighted to be opening up our very own brand home which gives us the chance to immerse people in that journey first hand; to walk them through the story, pour them the whiskey, and let them taste the difference the trans-Atlantic journey makes. The English pub and the live music are our way of continuing to pay homage to the horse and everything his story set in motion – right down to The Casbah Coffee Club and The Beatles. We can’t wait to welcome people through the doors.

“It’s also the only place in the world where people will be able to taste and bottle our forthcoming “Double Ocean” aged Bourbon. When we first launched the Bourbon we were so surprised by the profound effect the ocean crossing has on the flavor of the whiskey, so we’re excited to reveal how two transatlantic journeys affect its character”
