Boots Opticians has unveiled its newly refurbished Wigmore Street store in London, repositioning the site as a premium destination for designer eyewear and specialist clinical services.

Located in central London, the store has undergone a seven-week refurbishment designed to integrate advanced optical technology with a more considered customer experience. The updated offer from Boots Opticians brings together over 40 designer brands, including Lindberg, Porsche Design and Gucci. Cartier and Chopard collections are available exclusively at the Wigmore Street location.

Premium Retail and Clinical Integration

In addition to its retail offer, the store provides a range of clinical services, including optomap eye scans, dry eye relief treatments and contact lens care. Dedicated consultation areas and contact lens trial stations have been introduced to support more personalised eyecare and improve the in-store journey for both customers and clinicians.

Heritage Location

The Wigmore Street site has a longstanding association with optical retail. Formerly operating as Dollond & Aitchison, the store held a royal warrant and supplied eyewear to Queen Elizabeth II and The Duke of Edinburgh. Boots Opticians has occupied the location since 2009, following the merger of the two businesses.

“We’re incredibly excited to open Boots Opticians Wigmore Street, in one of London’s most iconic luxury retail destinations. Combining world class brands and expert clinicians, the store has been thoughtfully designed using gold motifs, heritage-inspired patterns and tonal gradients from our Boots brand identity. Boots Opticians Wigmore Street represents a marked evolution for Boots Opticians, celebrating the store’s rich history whilst setting a new benchmark for premium eye care.”

Gordon Dingwall, Director of Retail, Operations, Property & Franchise, Boots Opticians

The refurbishment reflects Boots Opticians’ continued investment in its physical estate and clinical capabilities, as it develops a more premium-led retail proposition within the UK optical market.
