Borough Yards, a revitalised shopping, dining, and cultural destination in the heart of London Bridge, has recently unveiled Stonecutters Lane. This latest development marks the final stage in the evolution of Borough Yards. Stonecutters Lane will feature a diverse mix of independent retailers dedicated to sustainability and high-quality design, with many brands opening their first standalone stores in the UK.

The independent shops debuting in Stonecutters Lane include natural, vegan, and sustainable skincare brand Sknfed, handmade décor producer La Lune London, which comes to Borough Yards following its success in Camden, and handmade jewellery designer Linnet Jewelry, known for its popular Etsy shop and a unit on Portobello Road. Additionally, affordable eyewear brand Pop Specs and ethical slow fashion social enterprise Handmade Stories will also set up shop.

Stonecutters Lane joins other established businesses at Borough Yards, such as Malin + Goetz and Japanese handicraft knife brand Kitchen Provisions, further enriching the marketplace. This new destination provides an excellent opportunity for visitors to explore ethical brands and discover new favourites.

For the launch, Borough Yards has collaborated with Lone Design Club, featuring 12 brands across three immersive pop-ups. The break-through brands participating in the launch include quirky ceramic artists H2 Studios, slow fashion brands Noe Dresses, Locklear Thomas, and BRICK + BONE, sustainable heatless hair curlers by And Wolf, conscious fashion partner One Less, and hybrid cycling brand Angry Pablo.

A series of free events will run through April and May, enhancing the vibrant atmosphere of Borough Yards. These events include a ‘Cocktails and Candles’ workshop, immersive clean beauty experiences with Malin + Goetz, a panel event for Fashion Revolution Week, a Food Market Afternoon, and regular Sip and Shop events.

Lily Lin, UK Managing Director for Borough Yards owner MARK, expressed enthusiasm about the launch: “The launch of Stonecutters Lane completes the Borough Yards vision, providing a vibrant hub for independent artisans. We’re thrilled to be working with Lone Design Club to launch the lane with free immersive events and pop-ups, creating a lively atmosphere for people to explore.”

Rebecca Morter, CEO of Lone Design Club, also highlighted the significance of this collaboration: “Partnering with Borough Yards to launch Stonecutters Lane through a curated series of immersive pop-ups and a dynamic six-week event program is a momentous endeavour. This partnership is more than just a series of events; it’s a movement towards a more vibrant and inclusive future in retail.”

Borough Yards is also home to popular bars and restaurants such as Bancone, Barrafina, Akara, Parrillan, and Brother Marcus, along with London Bridge’s first cinema, Everyman Cinema. The destination hosts a range of cultural events throughout the year and is set to host the World Press Photography exhibition this May.
