Hollister has opened its largest regional store at Metrocentre in Gateshead, strengthening the centre’s fashion offer in the Lower Red Mall.
The 6,000 sq ft store brings the Abercrombie & Fitch Co-owned brand’s latest Hollister House concept to the North East. The space carries Hollister’s Metrocentre apparel, accessories and fragrance ranges, with the store format combining a retail environment with omnichannel features.

The opening places Hollister within Metrocentre’s Red Mall fashion offer, alongside other international fashion names. It also builds on the brand’s stated focus on strategic, high-footfall destinations as it develops its UK presence.
Timberland has also opened at Metrocentre, taking a 2,567 sq ft store in the Upper Red Mall. The opening marks Timberland’s first standalone store in the North East and brings the brand’s footwear, clothing and accessories ranges to the Gateshead scheme.

Together, the Hollister and Timberland openings add further international fashion operators to Metrocentre. The centre is also set to be joined by additional retailers including Bershka, Lefties and New Look’s latest concept store.
The Hollister opening gives the brand a larger regional platform at Metrocentre while contributing to the centre’s ongoing repositioning of its fashion-focused retail mix.
