NEXT has opened its new flagship store at Lakeside Shopping Centre, introducing a retail space of 83,000 square feet. The launch marks one of the most significant store investments for the company to date and brings together fashion, lifestyle and wellness under one roof in a redesigned format for modern consumers.
The store, now one of the largest within NEXT’s portfolio, includes a mix of brands and services beyond its core offering. For the first time, a FatFace concession has been integrated within a NEXT store. Shoppers will also find dedicated areas for Bath & Body Works and Costa Coffee, forming a new multi-brand retail concept.

Located in a prime position at Lakeside, the flagship includes six separate customer entrances, one of which links directly to the newly reopened Multi-Storey Car Park 2. The store houses the full range of NEXT departments, including Womenswear, Menswear, Childrenswear and Home, alongside curated fashion collections from partner brands.

The layout incorporates features aimed at improving the customer experience, including expansive atriums and skylights to maximise natural light throughout the building. New fitting rooms have been introduced, offering more space and privacy. Interiors have been designed with exploration and comfort in mind, with each section offering a distinct atmosphere to encourage dwell time and convenience.

The opening reinforces NEXT’s investment in physical retail and signals the company’s intention to modernise its high street presence while incorporating complementary lifestyle brands. By combining a wide selection of fashion, homeware, and beauty products with food and drink options in a single location, the store is structured to support longer visits and greater footfall.

No further details have been disclosed regarding additional flagship openings, but the Lakeside launch forms part of an ongoing effort by NEXT to adapt its retail formats in line with changing shopper expectations.
