The Sloane Stanley Estate has announced the addition of two new design-led independent retailers to King’s Road in Chelsea. Penelope Chilvers, the designer footwear and accessories brand, has opened its fourth London store at 328 King’s Road. Joining them is KayaNuka, the women’s fashion label, which has opened a pop-up store at 324-326 King’s Road.
Penelope Chilvers has launched a 1,327 sq ft space on King’s Road, bringing its signature made-to-last fashion to the area, complementing the brand’s other locations in Notting Hill, Mayfair, Belgravia, and The Cotswolds. Known for combining contemporary design with traditional Spanish craftsmanship, Penelope Chilvers offers timeless pieces that blend seamlessly with seasonal trends. The brand’s most iconic item is the ‘Long Tassel Boot,’ famously worn by HRH Catherine, Princess of Wales. Other standout styles include the Incredible Boot, the creped-soled Neon Safari boot, and Goodyear welted outdoor footwear designed for adventure and exploration.
Penelope Chilvers expressed her excitement about the new opening, stating: “I’m delighted to announce the opening of our new store on the King’s Road. This exciting space brings the brand’s distinctive blend of British heritage and contemporary style to the heart of Chelsea.”
Joining Penelope Chilvers on King’s Road is KayaNuka, a jewellery, accessories, and women’s fashion brand known for its inspirational boho-chic designs. This is KayaNuka’s third pop-up on the Sloane Stanley Estate, marking the landlord’s collaborative approach in supporting independent brands. KayaNuka, which means ‘Older & Younger’ in Cherokee—a nod to the mother-daughter duo behind the brand—offers an exclusive, physical experience for customers, who can now browse its unique collections in person until the New Year.
Georgia Beckett, Co-Founder of KayaNuka, said: “Sloane Stanley has been so supportive of our physical step into retail, and it has been fantastic to build our brand presence in one of the most iconic retail destinations in London. When we had the opportunity to come back for a third time, it was a no-brainer for us – they deliver a solid platform for us to grow and engage with the neighbourhood, and it allows us to host other incredible small businesses and be part of a thriving independent community.”
Hannah Grievson, Property Director at Sloane Stanley, added: “Penelope Chilvers and KayaNuka are exactly the kind of names we’re after to add to our growing roster of independent brands. Our expertise lies very much in supporting the transition from online presence to physical retail, and is what makes our location so successful. Both brands have created solid roots in building their customer base, bringing new visitors to our Estate, and complement the area in every way possible.”
Penelope Chilvers and KayaNuka join a number of independent brands already established on King’s Road, including Aspiga and Chinti & Parker, alongside a growing selection of food and beverage operators. Recent F&B openings include Alley Cats, with Pizza Pilgrims and Fantomas set to open soon.
The deal was brokered by Miles Commercial and Savills, who represented the Sloane Stanley Estate.
