Stone Island Stages Collector-Led Takeover at The Corner Shop
Stone Island has taken over The Corner Shop at Selfridges London with an evolving retail environment shaped around independent collectors, archive pieces and a six-week programme spanning fashion, film, sound and design.
Stone Island has taken over The Corner Shop at Selfridges London with an evolving retail environment built around independent collectors, archival garments, current collections and exclusive product.
Running from 21 September to 6 November 2026, Selected Works ’982–’026_Stone Island: The Collector Series marks Stone Island’s first formal collaboration with the collectors who have helped preserve, interpret and shape the brand’s culture over four decades.
The project brings Stone Island’s living archive together with the collector community that has developed around it, giving participants a platform to present their own research, archives and perspectives. Arco Maher, Better Gift Shop, ‘bout, 194 Local, Holsales, Metallic Curtain, Pezze and SimJae are among those contributing personally curated selections.
Throughout the six-week installation, the collector archives are presented alongside AUTUMN_WINTER ’026–’027 and a series of products exclusive to Selfridges. Selected archival garments are also available for sale, with their provenance and individual histories incorporated into the presentation.
Rather than treating the archive as fixed, The Collector Series positions the collectors as researchers, custodians and contributors to the continuing culture around Stone Island.
Stone Island has never existed only through the garments we create. Its culture has also been shaped by the people who discover, wear, preserve and reinterpret them. THE COLLECTOR SERIES brings those voices to the forefront, offering a unique perspective on the brand through the experiences and personal histories of collectors around the world. We are grateful to Selfridges for providing the setting for this dialogue and helping bring this project to life.

An Evolving Corner Shop Environment
Designed by Willo Perron, the Corner Shop takeover has been conceived as an active build rather than a fixed retail installation, creating an evolving spatial system that combines collector archives, current collections and exclusive products.
Soft structures and modular components form a flexible architecture that can be reconfigured throughout the installation, mirroring the weekly rotation of collectors and garments.
Custom metal fixtures and monochromatic digital screens reference the visual language of early computer systems, creating a framework for the archival pieces while allowing each collector to bring a distinct perspective to the environment.
The approach means the experience changes over the course of the residency as different archives, garments and product stories move through the space.
Vintage highlights include the SS ’993 Reflective Jacket, AW ’983–’984 JOCK-23, SS ’007 David-TC Sublimation Print, AW ’001–’002 Monofilament Camo and AW ’989–’990 Ice Jacket Thermosensitive Fabric. Together, the pieces trace developments in Stone Island’s material research and garment-making technologies.
Alongside the archival selections, the current Stone Island collection includes three pieces exclusive to Selfridges: the Hand-Treated Leather Organza Burntorange parka in Week 1, the Reflective Treatment Denim Research jumpsuit in Week 2 and the Panno Speciale stand collar jacket in Week 4.
We are excited to bring Stone Island’s unique archive collection to The Corner Shop, the perfect destination to bring together rare collector pieces with the latest collection, including a selection of designs exclusive to Selfridges.
For us, it is also about bringing our customers even closer to the world of Stone Island and strengthening the sense of community around the brand. It celebrates what makes Stone Island so culturally significant, while looking firmly to what comes next.
Bosse Myhr, Director of Buying at Selfridges
The takeover also coincides with the worldwide launch of Stone Island No Seasons, which takes forward an original project by Massimo Osti first introduced in 1989 and produced until 1994. No Seasons centres on a single outerwear silhouette realised in six fabrications, with each garment dyed in piombo grey.
Six Weeks of Changing Collections
The content of The Corner Shop changes throughout the residency, with different aspects of Stone Island’s archive and current collection placed alongside rotating collector contributions.
Week 1 — 21 September: Stone Island Ghost + Mainline, featuring Arco Maher and ‘bout.
Week 2 — 28 September: Stone Island Denim Research, with SimJae / EZTAG, Pezze and Better Gift Shop.
Week 3 — 5 October: Stone Island No Seasons + Material Exploration, featuring Metallic Curtain and Holsales.
Week 4 — 12 October: Stone Island Wool Exploration + Mainline, accompanied by Arco Maher and 194 Local.
Week 5 — 21 October: Wool Continued + Ice Jacket.
Week 6 — 28 October: Three Phase Reactive + Mainline.
One of the reasons I love Stone Island so much is purely just because of the fabric focus, and it’s the idea that the fabric is key and the jacket comes second, which I think is really interesting. Stone Island doesn’t try to be a brand for everyone, but at the same time, there is always a piece for everyone; it’s been going for so long now.
Louis Holsgrove, London-based vintage archivist
The weekly rotation reinforces the collector-led approach, allowing the retail environment to develop as different interpretations of the Stone Island archive enter the space.
Film, Sound and Conversation
The Corner Shop takeover is accompanied by a cultural programme extending the project’s exploration of archive, research and community across film, sound and conversation.
23 September — Passport by Glenn Kitson
The Cinema at Selfridges hosts the premiere of Passport by Glenn Kitson, a documentary about Stone Island collectors filmed using vintage digital cameras across seven cities in seven countries: London, Paris, Naples, New York, Toronto, Seoul and Tokyo.

25–27 September — Friendly Pressure: Studio One_London
From 25 to 27 September, Stone Island Sound brings Friendly Pressure: Studio One_London to The Old Selfridges Hotel for three days of sonic exploration.
The programme brings together artists and audiences through experimentation and collective listening and is connected to Stone Island’s LAB & LIFE philosophy. LAB refers to the continuing investigation into the transformation and enhancement of materials, while LIFE relates to the lived cultural experience of the Stone Island community.

Frieze Partnership
From 14 to 18 October, Stone Island will return as Official Partner of Frieze Focus, the platform for emerging artists, alongside the Selected Works installation at Selfridges.
