On 25th October, a fresh wave of rewards beckons the Health & Beautycard members of Superdrug as the retailer launches VIP Rewards on its mobile app. The new scheme is designed to offer escalating rewards to members based on their shopping frequency, whether they shop in-store, online or via the Superdrug app.

Upon reaching a total expenditure of £300, members are elevated to the VIP tier, unlocking a treasure trove of rewards valid for a year. This includes an array of discounts, complimentary items, and more, adding a new layer of incentives on top of Superdrug’s already appealing everyday offers.

The transition to the new rewards scheme is seamless for existing members. Upon logging into the app or on Superdrug.com post 25th October, the scheme updates automatically reflecting the new reward structure. The reward mechanism is straightforward; as customers hit specified spend thresholds, they unlock rewards like a 20% discount on Own Brand products or free delivery.

The VIP status, attained on a spend of £300, unfolds a realm of exclusive offers over a span of 12 months. The VIP tier comes with ‘always on’ perks including 10% off on Own Brand and Beauty Services, alongside fresh rewards introduced on the app bi-monthly. Superdrug plans to keep the surprise element alive by unveiling additional rewards for their VIP members throughout the year.

Today’s update (25th October) will happen automatically for those who have the app installed, aligning rewards with their current spend levels. An impressive number, over 150,000 Superdrug customers, will instantaneously qualify for VIP membership, revelling in the benefits as the rewards go live.

The ‘always on’ rewards are a cherry on top, harmonizing with other Superdrug offers like Star Buys and Members only prices, thus paving the way for members to seize some truly fantastic deals.

Matt Walburn, the eCommerce Director at Superdrug, expressed enthusiasm about the new venture stating, “We are excited to bring the new App and introduce VIP Rewards to our shoppers. We wanted to reward our loyal customers with offers that they would find useful and be able to use day to day on products we know they love. We also wanted to make sure the rewards were accessible for a good amount of time, allowing shoppers to remain as a VIP for 12 months after reaching the threshold of £300, means that shoppers can take full advantage of all of our promotions, using stackable discounts to get fantastic prices.”

He further mentioned the evolution of their loyalty scheme, “The new VIP Rewards scheme also sees us starting our journey to move from physical cards to an app-based loyalty scheme, enhancing our offline plus online initiative to engage and improve the customer experience.”

The timeline to unlock rewards before reaching VIP status is unlimited for Health & Beautycard members. Post enjoying a year’s worth of promotions as a VIP, members either revert to the normal status to re-embark on the rewards journey, or if their spend exceeds £300 during their VIP tenure, they continue enjoying the VIP status for another year.
