This week Superdrug has introduced a new same-day courier service to meet the urgent needs of customers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The retailer, which supplies customers with over one million healthcare products a week, is offering the service to customers within an 8 mile radius of over 300 Superdrug stores.

Matt Walburn, eCommerce Director at Superdrug says: “The courier service is something that has been in development a while. We’ve brought it forward urgently to help those customers who are social distancing, from visiting stores at the moment and who might be in need of essential supplies quickly. We’re so pleased to be able to roll it out immediately to nearly half of our estate and we hope it goes some way in helping people during this time of need.”

The service which fulfils orders straight from stores, launches amidst what is a time of real pressure for online retail.

Walburn adds: “We are absolutely prioritising our online service during this time, to help reduce the number of visits customers need to make to a physical store. We are experiencing unprecedented volumes of orders on Superdrug.com. Our teams are working hard to ensure as many people as possible are able to receive their healthcare and essential items at home.”

Superdrug’s Online Doctor continues to run efficiently and customers are able to receive their prescriptions either via click and collect after four hours or via express delivery within three days and standard delivery within six days. Superdrug.com customers that are able to go into store can also still opt for a rapid 30 minute order & collect service.
