The Perfume Shop has launched its 2025 Christmas Recruitment Programme, with more than 900 temporary roles available across the UK. The company reports this year’s campaign will exceed 2024 recruitment levels, in response to projected demand.
According to the retailer, over 29,000 applications were received for similar positions last year. The roles are available nationwide, and recruitment has already commenced in selected locations.
The company states it pays all staff over the age of 18 the real Living Wage, including those employed on a seasonal basis. Pay rates begin at £12.60 per hour, or £13.85 in London, with additional commission and staff discount. The Perfume Shop also provides access to wellbeing support through partnerships with the Retail Trust and Wagestream.
Roles include temporary Christmas Sales Assistant positions as well as permanent vacancies such as Team Leader and Store Manager in selected outlets. Opportunities are open to individuals with or without prior retail experience. The company reports that some temporary staff are offered longer-term employment after the seasonal period.
The Perfume Shop has extended its recruitment message to those affected by job losses elsewhere in the retail sector. It states that individuals from recently closed stores are welcome to apply for available roles. Further development programmes available to employees include apprenticeships and The Fragrance Foundation qualifications. Learning resources are also provided through online modules and an internal learner app.
