The immersive mini golf operator Treetop Golf is preparing to launch a new location at Cabot Circus, Bristol, later this year, following the successful lease agreement of a 17,000 sq ft unit with Hammerson, the retail destination’s owner. This marks Treetop Golf’s sixth venue in the UK and its debut in Bristol, aligning with Hammerson’s strategy to revitalize and diversify its Bristol city centre asset with engaging social, cultural, and entertainment options.

Treetop Golf is set to introduce two immersive indoor 18-hole mini golf courses at Cabot Circus, along with a Bonus 19th hole that offers players the opportunity to win a free game. The venue will also feature The Market, a relaxation and dining area where visitors can enjoy handmade pizza from Pizza Cabana, tropical cocktails and mocktails at The Thirsty Toucan bar, or coffee and snacks at the Jungle Buzz Café, showcasing products from local suppliers.

Aimed at all age groups, Treetop Golf provides an ideal venue for various gatherings, including birthday parties, school trips, and corporate events, offering the option to book a private event room or hire the entire venue for larger corporate functions.

The decision to open at Cabot Circus follows the success of Treetop Golf’s site at Hammerson’s Bullring & Grand Central in Birmingham, which has attracted a diverse audience since its opening in May 2021. Hammerson aims to replicate this success in Bristol by integrating unique placemaking events and activations to enhance customer engagement and increase foot traffic.

Elizabeth Stanway, CEO and Co-Founder of Treetop Golf, expressed excitement about the new venture, stating, “We can’t wait to bring our immersive mini golf destination to Bristol. We’re on a mission to spread wonder and to help our guests connect through new experiences and share special moments together. It’s great to be working again with the Hammerson team and we’re thrilled to be supporting their plans in growing Cabot Circus’ entertainment offering.”

Shelley Taylor, Asset Manager at Hammerson, shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming opening: “We are really excited to welcome Treetop Golf later this year. This signing supports our vision to strengthen Cabot Circus’ offering with modern and innovative leisure concepts. Our vision is to reposition Cabot Circus from a place where people come only to shop, to a multi-use ‘destination’ offering a real mix of exciting entertainment, social and lifestyle experiences. This is just the first step in a series of exciting new brands we plan to announce this year.”

The leasing strategy at Cabot Circus is complemented by a vibrant art and cultural program, highlighted by events such as an award-winning pop Skatepark, a 11.5 metre mural and workshops hosted by Aardman Studios (creators of Wallace & Gromit), and a series of pop-up gigs featuring performances by Dizzee Rascal, DJ Roni Size, and Massive Attack’s Daddy G Grant, with the latter event raising over £20k for charity.
