The Liberty Romford is set to welcome a significant new addition to its retail line-up as 80s Casual Classics opens its first Southern store this summer. The 2,340 sq ft flagship will mark the brand’s fifth UK location and its debut in the South, introducing its blend of vintage and modernised retro menswear to Romford’s central shopping destination.

Owned and operated by Redical, The Liberty Romford continues to evolve as a retail and leisure hub, with this latest addition supporting its position as the number one London satellite shopping centre for retail spend opportunity. The arrival of 80s Casual Classics brings a nostalgic edge to the tenant mix, featuring apparel inspired by the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and showcasing well-known heritage labels including Sergio Tacchini, Fila Vintage, Ellesse, Adidas Originals, Lacoste, Diadora, and Benetton.

The store will also offer exclusive custom-made items from third-party brands, available only at 80s Casual Classics locations. Known for its cinematic affiliations, the retailer has provided wardrobe pieces for titles such as This is England, The Firm, Marching Powder, and The Business, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Daniel Tucker, Leasing Manager at The Liberty Romford, commented:
“80s Casual Classics is unlike anything we have at The Liberty Romford, and as a result will help us diversify our mix even further. We are a destination that evolves with the needs of our community, and with the demand for nostalgic fashion growing, 80s Casual Classics will enrich our customer experience while also establishing a key point of difference.”

Neil Primett, Founder and Managing Director at 80s Casual Classics, added:
“We have had huge success in the North, and a large portion of our online sales comes from the South, especially in the Essex and London region, due to the prominence of the subculture we sit within. We have no doubt that The Liberty Romford is the right place for us, and cannot wait to fulfil the ever-growing demand for high-quality retro fashion with a unique modern spin that we know the destination’s highly engaged customer base will love.”

The signing follows recent investment activity at The Liberty Romford, which has attracted long-term commitments from retailers such as Pandora, Rituals, The Perfume Shop, Holland & Barrett, and EE. These developments form part of Redical’s multi-year estate improvement programme, launched in 2023 with a £7 million commitment to enhancing the centre.

Cushman & Wakefield and Green & Partners represented The Liberty Romford in the transaction, with Bennett Phillips acting for 80s Casual Classics.
