Parkgate in South Yorkshire has bolstered its retail offering with the addition of Pavers and Starbucks to its growing lineup of tenants. These new arrivals reflect the park’s appeal to both retailers and customers, as ongoing expansions continue to enhance its diverse retail mix.

Comfort shoe retailer Pavers has taken up a 4,000 sq ft unit on a five-year lease. Known for its extensive selection of comfortable footwear, Pavers operates over 150 stores in the UK, offering a variety of its own branded shoes alongside popular names like Skechers, Fly Flot, and Padders. Starbucks, meanwhile, has secured a 2,000 sq ft unit, complementing Parkgate’s robust food and beverage options, which include brands such as Nandos, Frankie & Benny’s, German Doner Kebab, and Popeyes.

In addition to these new tenants, Superdrug is set to expand its presence at Parkgate by doubling its store size to a 10,000 sq ft unit, demonstrating strong retailer confidence in the location. The expansion comes at a time of continued growth for the retail park, further solidifying its position as a key shopping destination in South Yorkshire.

The latest tenant deals are part of Columbia Threadneedle Investments’ asset management strategy to enhance Parkgate’s retail offering. Over the past few months, the park has secured a number of new tenants, including a multi-fascia unit for Frasers Group featuring USC, Sports Direct, and Everlast. Wilko has also recently opened at Parkgate, adding further strength to its retail mix.

Tom Hatfield, Asset Manager at Columbia Threadneedle Real Estate, commented on the park’s progress: “In the two quarters since our acquisition of Parkgate, we have continued to diversify our retail offering for shoppers. Building on Columbia Threadneedle’s extensive experience within the retail park sector, Parkgate has welcomed eight new tenants and secured a key lease renewal – equating to over 94,000 sq ft of committed space – in just seven months. The arrival of these two new brands, alongside Superdrug’s expansion, is further evidence of the appeal of Parkgate. And with further tenant discussions already underway, we hope to make additional announcements soon.”

Leasing agents for Parkgate are Curson Sowerby Partners and Morgan Williams, who continue to attract high-profile tenants to the park.
