Shaftesbury Capital has revealed that globally renowned coffee brand Nespresso will open a new boutique in Covent Garden next spring. Located at 34 Henrietta Street, the 1,345 sq ft space will offer a unique discovery experience for coffee enthusiasts while preserving and celebrating the historic building’s distinctive features.
The new boutique will replace Nespresso’s Regent Street store, which closed at the end of 2024. This move reinforces Covent Garden’s status as a destination for flagship stores by internationally recognised brands, with Nespresso joining other anchor tenants like Apple, Glossier, and Alo Yoga.
A Bespoke Coffee Experience
The boutique aims to create an inviting, ‘home away from home’ atmosphere, where customers can explore Nespresso’s wide range of coffee capsules, machines, and accessories. A dedicated sustainability area will showcase Nespresso’s progress in recycling and other initiatives, encouraging customers to return used capsules.
Anna Lundstrom, CEO of Nespresso UK & Ireland, commented:
“We’re excited to bring Nespresso to Covent Garden, a place rich in coffee culture and history. Today, Covent Garden thrives as a hub of modern British lifestyle, making it the perfect location for our latest Boutique. Our unique retail space invites coffee lovers to come together, connect, and explore the world of Nespresso, whilst discovering diverse coffee tastes and flavours in an inspiring setting designed to celebrate a shared passion for coffee.”
William Oliver, Retail Leasing Director at Shaftesbury Capital, noted:
“As the UK’s leading destination for flagship locations from world-class brands, Nespresso’s commitment to open a new anchor store in Covent Garden is an ideal fit. Nespresso will add to the Piazza and wider neighbourhood’s already extensive backdrop of innovative lifestyle brands and undertake significant investment in one of Covent Garden’s many historic buildings, revitalising a key corner right in the heart of the destination.”
Expanding Covent Garden’s Offerings
In addition to Nespresso, Alo Yoga will open a 5,000 sq ft store at 25a Neal Street early next year. The luxury activewear brand’s new West End location will feature its collection of premium lifestyle and activewear and will serve as a gateway to the Seven Dials neighbourhood, further diversifying Covent Garden’s retail landscape.
