Danish homewares retailer Søstrene Grene is set to open its first store in Gateshead, with a new location confirmed for the Metrocentre.
The store will bring Søstrene Grene’s Scandinavian-inspired collections of interiors, kitchenware, crafts, gifts and seasonal decorations to the North East for the first time. Known for its combination of minimalist design and affordability, the brand offers an ever-changing selection of practical and decorative homeware items.

The Metrocentre opening is the latest in Søstrene Grene’s UK expansion, following recent new store launches across other regions. The new unit will further strengthen the brand’s bricks-and-mortar footprint and enhance its accessibility in key retail destinations.
Søstrene Grene stores are designed to offer a calming shopping experience, often laid out in a labyrinth-style format to encourage exploration. Each store typically features new arrivals on a weekly basis, with seasonal edits reflecting Scandinavian aesthetics and lifestyle themes.
