Søstrene Grene will open a store at The Elephant in Elephant & Castle on Thursday 12 November, its 13th in Greater London, with doors opening at 9.59am.

With more than 400 stores across 19 markets, Søstrene Grene is growing its international presence alongside plans to reach 100 UK stores in the next few years. Its UK roll-out this year has included plans for its 400th store at Manchester Arndale and, in London, a store at The O2.

To mark the opening at The Elephant, the first 100 customers in the queue will receive a voucher for one of the brand’s woollen throws. Visitors will also be offered complimentary tote bags filled with selected Søstrene Grene products, alongside live entertainment.

“We’re delighted to be continuing our growth across London with our new store in Elephant & Castle. As we expand our presence in the capital, we look forward to introducing more customers to our collections and the distinctive Søstrene Grene shopping experience.

“Each of our stores is designed to encourage customers to slow down, explore and find inspiration; whether they’re looking for something for their home or embarking on a creative project. We look forward to welcoming the Elephant & Castle community through our doors.”

The family-owned company is now run by its second generation. Its holding company owns most of its stores, with the remainder operated on a joint venture and franchise basis.

“We’re excited to be opening our 13th Greater London store and to become part of the Elephant & Castle community. We look forward to welcoming customers to discover our collections of homewares, craft supplies and everyday essentials and to experiencing the calm and creative atmosphere that Søstrene Grene is known for.”

Søstrene Grene has also committed to a set of climate targets towards 2034, which have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.
