Aldi is stepping up its London expansion with eight new stores planned this year and refurbishments scheduled for two existing sites in 2026. The investment is aimed at improving access to lower-cost grocery shopping across the capital.
Aldi is planning to open eight new stores across London and Greater London this year as part of a £40m investment designed to widen access to lower-cost food shopping in parts of the capital underserved by discount retailers.
The expansion will add sites in Hanworth on Twickenham Road, Willesden on High Road, Watford, Marble Arch, Hoxton, Orpington West, Epsom and Stepney Green. Aldi UK said its existing Enfield and Kilburn stores will also undergo refurbishments in 2026.
New London And Greater London Locations
The latest programme continues the retailer’s push within and around the capital, targeting communities where weekly grocery shopping can still mean relying on higher-priced convenience stores or full-price supermarket formats.
Last year, Aldi opened additional stores inside the M25 in Wimbledon, Fulham Broadway, Shoreditch, Caterham, Uxbridge, Old Kent Road and Kentish Town, alongside an extension at Colindale.
Jobs And Wider UK Investment
The supermarket said the eight new stores are expected to create around 200 jobs across the capital. The London expansion forms part of Aldi’s broader investment programme in Britain, with more than £370 million earmarked for new stores nationwide this year.

The latest openings further extend Aldi’s presence across London and Greater London as the discounter continues to focus on accessibility and value-led grocery provision.
