The Lexicon in Bracknell has signed lifestyle retailer KENJI for a new store, alongside lease renewals from several existing occupiers at the Berkshire retail and leisure destination.

KENJI will occupy approximately 3,000 sq ft of trading space, bringing its range of contemporary homeware, gifting and lifestyle products to the centre. It will join retailers including Søstrene Grene, Rituals, Smiggle and Waterstones, extending The Lexicon’s lifestyle and gifting offer.

The signing comes alongside three long-term recommitments from existing occupiers. OFFICE has renewed for a further 10 years, while Flying Tiger Copenhagen has committed for another five years and The Works has also renewed its presence at the centre. The activity follows the recent opening of eurochange.

The renewing retailers are investing in their stores through new fit-outs and updated concepts. Collectively, the renewals account for approximately 10,000 sq ft of retail space.

The Lexicon reports that footfall is currently tracking by up to 3% ahead of UK national averages and regional benchmarks, with rolling footfall of 14.5 million. The figure follows earlier leasing activity at the Bracknell destination, when Mango, Rituals and Jamaica Blue were among the additions to its tenant mix. The centre draws visitors from across Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire.

“This latest signing of KENJI, alongside a series of significant lease renewals, demonstrates the long-term success that the right retailers can have in The Lexicon, cementing its position as Berkshire’s leading retail and leisure destination. This reflects our leasing strategy, bringing together brands that are intelligently zoned, responding to changing customer demand, and creating long-term value for our entire occupier community. The combination of footfall growth from an affluent catchment, and continued investment in the customer experience, means The Lexicon is an increasingly important location for the best in retail, hospitality, leisure, and lifestyle.”

Aran Uner, Asset Manager, The Lexicon

“We’re delighted to be bringing our diverse range of trend-led accessories, homeware, gifts, snacks and stationery to a top 20 UK retail destination. This is an important step in expanding our store concept throughout the UK, and in particular Southern England. The Lexicon is a natural choice for KENJI, with its continued strong trading performance, customer demographics, and complementary retail partners.”

Eddie Shepherd, Managing Director, KENJI

The latest opening forms part of KENJI’s wider expansion of its physical retail estate in the UK, following activity including its 2026 signing at centre:mk in Milton Keynes.

The Lexicon opened in 2017 and comprises nearly one million sq ft of retail and leisure space in Bracknell town centre. Its line-up includes regional flagship stores for Waitrose, Fenwick, Primark, Sports Direct and Marks & Spencer, alongside restaurants, cafés, entertainment and leisure operators across five retail zones.

The latest leasing activity follows the appointment of CBRE and Morgan Williams as joint letting agents for The Lexicon. The two firms are working on the centre’s ongoing leasing programme.
