This festive season is going to be like two Christmases rolled into one – and deservedly so! As the nation prepares to get its homes ready for guests, Homebase is launching its Christmas advert. It features Channel 4’s most iconic DIY-loving couple, Dick and Angel Strawbridge, to show how we can bring a bit of showtime sparkle to our homes.
The heart-warming advert sees Dick and Angel sneak past security into a Homebase store to give the place a full festive makeover. The couple creates a magical wonderland, using Homebase’s Christmas range, from trees to lights and baubles. Their time is cut short by the store team arriving for the morning shift and they dress up as Santa and his little helper to avoid being caught.
Dick and Angel Strawbridge comment: “This year’s Homebase Christmas advert was so playful; it was lots of fun to make! Many of us will be catching up on hosting friends and family, getting creative and giving Christmas an extra, well-deserved sparkle. We can’t lie, we left the Homebase store singing Christmas carols, feeling completely inspired by their ranges of products and eager to fill the Chateau with Christmas magic!”
The advert, ‘It’s Showtime’, shows how excited the nation is to celebrate Christmas with loved ones this year, and will be pulling out all the stops to make it a festive season to remember. In fact, many customers are so excited that they’re bringing Christmas to their homes earlier than ever before. Data from the Homebase website reveals there were over 1,400 searches for Christmas products in the first week of September alone.
