The deal at the Midlands based self-adhesive film supplier is a planned succession arrangement that sees James Carpenter officially retire from Doro Tape and Michael Ingram take over full ownership of the company.

The two have worked together to turn the company into one of the UK’s leading suppliers of self-adhesive films for the creative sector as well as supplying technical films to various industries for well over 20 years. It is a testament to their hard work that the next stage is embarked upon with a secure financial footing and one of the best independent portfolios of products available.

With over 30 years of service, a big proportion of which as Managing Director, James Carpenter will now be enjoying his retirement whilst still contributing to the business on a consultancy basis. 

Michael said “We have worked towards this end for the past couple of years before Covid got in the way of proceedings last year. I am pleased that the time is now right, and I am excited to be able to take it into the next phase”. He said that he was upbeat about the future “Innovation is a key part of our future thinking and we have some really exciting product developments in place that should see us benefit greatly in various sectors. I am especially excited by our new offering of PVC Free films and materials made from post-consumer recycled plastic”.

The company formed in 1988 are distributors of many top European manufacturing brands including as ASLAN, Poli-Tape, R-Tape & Ritrama as well as having a range of specialist sign, window and digital print materials under their own name. 

Paying tribute to James, Michael said “I am very lucky to have had James as a friend and colleague over this time.  Together, we share the same passion for meeting people and building relationships with customers and suppliers alike and we have bounced ideas off each other along the way”.

Michael added “We are a small company with a simple philosophy: To offer a wide range of quality products at a fair price backed by the best customer service in the industry”. He also praised the work done by his colleagues saying “I’m lucky enough to have a superb team of wonderful hard-working people around me to help maintain our high standards. This has been the backbone of our success and that will never change”.

The company will launch a brand-new logo that embodies the company’s specialist approach to both the technical and creative sides of the business. This will soon be seen on their website and at many exhibitions in 2022.
