EE has opened its inaugural Experience store in Bristol’s Cabot Circus, marking a significant expansion in the South West of England. The store is strategically designed to engage customers with the latest connected technologies and provide expert advice and solutions tailored to everyday tech needs.

This initiative by EE addresses a notable gap in customer service within the tech industry, as recent research conducted by the company highlights that only 5% of Bristol residents typically seek help from retail staff when encountering tech issues. Despite this, over half (52%) of those surveyed acknowledged that in-store specialist advice would boost their confidence in selecting appropriate technology products.

The Bristol community, known for its robust tech engagement, features prominently in EE’s research, which finds that two-thirds (65%) of locals own up to 10 smart home devices, utilising them daily at a significant rate. The store’s design aims to bridge these technological gaps by providing an immersive retail experience through various thematic zones.

The new store introduces several Experience Zones, each focusing on different lifestyle aspects such as work, home, learning, and gaming. These include:

  • Welcome Zone: A dynamic entry point that showcases the latest products and in-store promotions.
  • Gaming Zone: Customers can explore the latest gaming consoles and receive tailored advice on gaming bundles and plans.
  • Basecamp: A relaxed setting where customers can work, discuss product options, or seek device repair advice over a complimentary coffee.
  • Tech Live: An area where the latest gadgets are displayed, allowing customers to test and purchase technology with confidence.

Additionally, the store features a Tech Home area, crafted to demonstrate potential smart home setups, equipped with super-fast broadband solutions, a smart TV, and connected speakers. This setup is designed to help customers visualise and understand the integration of smart technologies in their homes.

As part of EE’s broader strategy to rejuvenate the UK’s high streets with innovative retail concepts, the Bristol store exemplifies the brand’s dedication to becoming the most personal, customer-focused retailer in the market.
