Harvey Norman has confirmed its continued UK expansion with the announcement of a new store and UK headquarters at Gracechurch, Royal Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. The multinational home and lifestyle retailer has signed a 20-year lease for a 53,000 sq. ft. retail space, marking a significant addition to the shopping centre.
The site, previously home to British Home Stores (BHS) until its closure in 2016, will be transformed into a state-of-the-art retail destination. The new store will showcase a premium selection of furniture, electronics, and home appliances from leading brands, including Dyson, Apple, Samsung, LG, Miele, and Sage. Customers will also benefit from a bespoke cooking appliance centre, Love Tech setup services, and click-and-collect options.

The expansion forms part of a wider multi-million-pound investment by SAV Group and BPG, who acquired the shopping centre in late 2023. Footfall at Gracechurch has been on an upward trajectory, surpassing national retail trends, with several new businesses launching within the past year.
Alex Tarlo, Founder of SAV Group, welcomed Harvey Norman’s arrival: “The arrival of Harvey Norman marks a significant milestone in Gracechurch’s transformation and underscores our bold vision for its future. By choosing Gracechurch for their UK headquarters and latest store, Harvey Norman has demonstrated strong confidence in our strategy to position the centre as a leading regional retail destination. This lease also signals the start of substantial investment across the centre, aimed at further enhancing the visitor experience. We look forward to working closely with the Harvey Norman team to bring this exciting new store to life.”
Harvey Norman, which operates over 300 stores worldwide, first entered the UK market with its flagship location at Merry Hill shopping centre in 2024. The new store at Gracechurch is expected to open in 2026 and will incorporate sustainable technologies to improve energy efficiency.
Lachlan Roach, Managing Director of Harvey Norman UK, highlighted the strategic importance of this move: “Expanding into Gracechurch, Royal Sutton Coldfield, is a significant step in our UK growth strategy. This location provides the perfect setting to showcase our diverse product range while delivering the world-class service for which Harvey Norman is renowned. The West Midlands is a thriving community, and we are excited to contribute to its retail landscape by offering a premium selection of electronics, technology, and furniture.”
The new store will create up to 100 jobs across sales, marketing, online, finance, procurement, operations, warehousing, and more, with additional apprenticeship opportunities.
Harvey Norman’s expansion follows the recent redevelopment of Gracechurch, which has seen new store openings and further investment to enhance the shopping experience.
