Skin Cupid has officially opened its first physical retail destination, transitioning from a purely digital presence to a flagship store in central London. The 3,000 square foot space at 119 Charing Cross Road launched on 26 September 2025 and was created in partnership with retail design studio YourStudio, with a focus on translating digital community engagement into a tangible, sensory experience.
The store is the latest move by Skin Cupid, founded by Melody Yuan in 2020, to expand its influence beyond social media. Since its inception, the brand has grown to become one of the UK’s largest K-Beauty communities, amassing over 1.5 million followers, known as “Cherubs”, across its platforms.

Working alongside Melody and the Skin Cupid team, YourStudio designed an immersive retail experience structured around community and discovery. The space combines soft textures and bold design with a layout that guides customers through curated beauty rituals and product experiences reflective of Korean skincare practices.

Key in-store features include a hands-on product testing area, displays guiding visitors through Korean beauty routines, and a dedicated loyalty hub named “Cupid World”. This area is designed as a space for connection, enabling customers to engage not only with the brand but also with one another.

Skin Cupid founder Melody Yuan commented: “With retail, it’s important to create a space where people can connect. Our store is community-first, a place where people feel seen and supported. We wanted a flagship that was more than just a shop. Working with YourStudio, we’ve created something that will spark joy, become a home for our loyal community of Cherubs, and invite exploration from new customers who will discover us.”

According to Lisa Crutchley, Creative Director at YourStudio, the design brief went beyond product presentation. “Translating Skin Cupid’s digital success into a physical space has involved more than creating a showcase for products, it has been designed to be the cornerstone of the brand’s community. The flagship reflects a broader shift in retail, from transactional shopping to spaces that foster connection, education, and storytelling. The store acts to strengthen the brand’s identity, expand its reach, and cement its place in London’s beauty landscape.”

Material choices throughout the 279 square metre space reinforce the store’s dual emphasis on purity and playfulness. Clean architectural lines are paired with soft, tactile finishes and vibrant colour accents. Thoughtfully integrated lighting adds warmth, while design details such as a Barrisol ceiling above the entrance arches provide a theatrical and symbolic entry into the “Cupid World”.
The physical location marks a new chapter in Skin Cupid’s strategy to create more than a commercial space. It aims to become a physical hub for its online community while offering new customers a chance to explore Korean skincare in a welcoming, shareable, and educational environment.
