Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) has announced the launch of the Health & Wellness Village at The Village in Westfield London. This new initiative dedicates over 50,000 sq ft on Level 1 to health and wellness brands and services, reflecting a significant development in the centre’s evolution. The project aims to address the increasing consumer demand for accessible, high-quality health and wellness experiences within a retail setting.
This development aligns with findings from URW’s How We Shop: From Play to Purpose report, which indicates that 70% of UK adults are open to accessing non-emergency health services in non-traditional settings, such as shopping centres. The UK’s private healthcare market is currently valued at £11 billion, underscoring the growing interest in innovative wellness destinations.

Several notable openings have already taken place. Betterview, a laser eye surgery clinic, commenced operations in August 2024. Prince Pharmacy, a private pharmacy group, is preparing to launch its flagship branch this spring, aiming to redefine health and wellbeing services. Effect Doctors, known for its IV drips and proactive healthcare approach, is set to open a 550 sq ft clinic this spring. These businesses are strategically positioned to cater to the needs of today’s time-conscious consumers, especially considering that 63% of Gen Z and Millennials have expressed interest in accessing health services during their lunch breaks.
The upcoming phase of openings includes wellness-focused brand StretchLAB, which will introduce a 1,462 sq ft space in April, offering personalised one-on-one assisted stretching to enhance mobility and flexibility. Additionally, So.Shell, a premium London nail and brow salon, is scheduled to open a 740 sq ft space in spring 2025, providing bespoke treatments and relaxation services.
Constantin Wiesmann, Leasing Director UK at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, commented: “The health and wellness sector is experiencing significant growth driven by a demand for convenient and personalised healthcare options, as highlighted in our How We Shop research. At Westfield London, we are dedicated to creating innovative spaces that evolve with the changing needs of our communities and visitors. The introduction of Health and Wellness at The Village is a perfect example of this commitment, showcasing our focus on delivering world-class, mixed-use destinations that enhance the customer experience and cater to the lifestyle priorities of today’s consumers. We are excited by the momentum in this sector and look forward to its ongoing growth.”
Allan Johnson, CEO at Effect Doctors, added: “The Health and Wellness Village at Westfield London represents an exciting step forward in making wellness services more accessible to the public. It aligns seamlessly with our mission to deliver personalised and preventative healthcare in a convenient and welcoming environment. This dedicated space not only sets the stage for our continued growth but also reflects the rising demand for accessible and preventive wellness services. We are excited to bring our expertise to such a dynamic location and look forward to supporting the health and wellbeing of the Westfield London community.”
The Health & Wellness Village is poised to become a central element of The Village’s redevelopment, blending wellbeing and luxury in a dynamic new space throughout 2025. This ambitious transformation will enhance both levels of The Village to improve the overall shopping experience. The First Floor will be redesigned to host a variety of new medical and wellness brands, creating a dedicated space for health-conscious consumers. On the Ground Floor, the focus will remain on premium and luxury brands, with an upgraded aesthetic that maintains its status as a destination for high-end shopping, offering a range of renowned labels in a sophisticated and inviting environment.
