Retailer WHSmith has joined forces with CoreLogic to scan their retail space across their High Street Travel store estate throughout the UK. Using CoreLogic’s Virtual Tours service, the Company can gain a detailed visual representation of the retail sites they are in the process of remodelling, building or have recently acquired.

This capability enables multiple people to visualise the retail space without needing to travel or be on site, providing a practical solution to bring teams together to digitally walk around the space and jointly discuss elements of store layout, maintenance, remodelling and point of sale display.

Steve Cole, Group Construction Director, WHSmith commented: “We’re pleased to be partnering with CoreLogic to use their Virtual Tours service to support our store planning and development. They have provided a great solution to overcome some of the challenges of working in this current climate with their digital visual representation of our sites.”

Stewart McRae, Sales Director, CoreLogic UK continued: “We are really excited to be working with WHSmith an icon from the British high street, to provide a practical and helpful solution to aid their evolution across a changing retail landscape. Having already built-up rapport within the Estate Agency industry, we see Retail as another natural fit for our Virtual Tour services. In these challenging times when restrictions on people’s movement and mixing is problematic, Virtual Tour technology is a powerful tool and works well for retailers for a variety of reasons from shop refits, marketing and merchandising to a full digital shopping experience.

“The output from our scans creates a highly accurate digital twin of the space. Having the freedom to move around in all directions, zooming in and out to appreciate the detail, gives the viewers full control. The scans also provide dollhouse and floorplan views enabling viewers to gain a real sense of the of layout and proportion, with added benefit of digital measuring tools, to quickly size up a space.”

WHSmith will use the virtual Tour service before and after store refits, aiding teams at the planning stages and then being able to showcase the end result through their marketing channels. For further details about CoreLogic Virtual Tours for retail and to take a sample tour VISIT HERE.
