Zara has expanded its flagship store at Liverpool ONE, increasing its size to 42,000 sq ft across two floors on upper and lower South John Street. The new store represents a 55% increase from its previous 27,200 sq ft location. The larger space offers an extended range of Zara’s menswear, womenswear, and childrenswear collections and includes self-service payment facilities, alongside a more open and customer-focused interior design.
The launch marks a key milestone in Liverpool ONE’s record-breaking 2025, a year set to be its biggest for openings since its inception in 2008. Rob Deacon, Asset Management Director at Liverpool ONE, said: “Liverpool ONE is defined by its leading mix of brands and ability to deliver the best of the best, and the opening of Zara’s significantly upsized regional flagship is the perfect example of this. Demand for Liverpool ONE is at an all-time high, with leading brands recognising its appeal as a destination for flagships and showcase spaces.”
Zara is one of 22 brands that have invested in their Liverpool ONE locations since 2024, covering a combined footprint of 135,000 sq ft. This expansion trend is supported by 34 additional brands committing to Liverpool ONE in 2024, occupying a further 200,000 sq ft.
The year ahead is set to feature several prominent openings, including UNIQLO, which will debut its 25,000 sq ft flagship store on Paradise Street, Sephora with a 7,500 sq ft location, and TFG London launching its largest-ever 12,000 sq ft multi-brand flagship. These additions follow a landmark 2024, which saw significant investment from both established brands and new entrants.
In addition to permanent signings, Liverpool ONE welcomed numerous short-term lets in 2024, including AllSaints, Curated Makers, and Noughts and Crosses. The destination has also provided a platform for clicks-to-bricks brands making their physical debuts, such as Luxe Collective, Sisters & Seekers, Glamify Fashion, and Applied Nutrition x Yelir.
The combination of flagship expansions, innovative retail formats, and a diverse range of tenants highlights Liverpool ONE’s continued appeal as a destination for retail investment. Zara’s new store represents a pivotal moment in Liverpool ONE’s growth, as the destination prepares to welcome even more high-profile brands in 2025.
