Diptyque has unveiled a reimagined counter at Harrods in Knightsbridge, expanding the space to 27 sq m following the addition of nine sq m within its existing footprint. The redesign follows the Maison’s evolving architectural identity and its “Imagination Wanders” narrative, intended to guide customers through its fragrance, candle and home collections.

The updated Diptyque space is organised around a 360-degree central counter designed specifically for the Harrods setting and centred on fragrance and candles. Brushed oak is combined with marble-inlaid façades, a marble countertop and a Corian pyramid, while the surrounding terrazzo floor incorporates irregular pieces of green, red and brown marble.

Fragrance And Candle Collections

The aisle-facing side of the central counter presents Diptyque’s Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum collections, with fragrance gestures housed within drawers. Les Essences de Diptyque is displayed above alongside the Intense range and the 34 collection. The opposite side, facing the column, is dedicated to candles and led by the classic candle collection.

A bespoke artwork by British wrought iron specialist Richard Hillam forms a focal point at the centre of the counter. The work reinterprets a poppy field in wrought iron with a patinated bronze finish.

A Second Counter Extends The Display

A second counter using the same design language sits opposite on the left side of the aisle, separated visually by an existing Harrods stone column. An arch carrying the Diptyque logo frames a double display of Les Essences de Diptyque on one side, while the other incorporates an animation area.

Mirrored stainless steel units and wooden cabinets connect the installation with the surrounding architecture. The bath collection is positioned to the left, with the Les Mondes de Diptyque candle collection displayed to the right.

Home Fragrance And Personalisation

Behind the central counter, a column finished in Diptyque green incorporates classic mouldings referencing Parisian architecture. Its front-facing side displays the remainder of the 300g and 1.5kg candle range, with tissue-paper gifting displays positioned above and below. A lightbox is located at the rear, while the cash desk beside the column follows the same material palette as the main counters.

The lower section of the space accommodates the remainder of Diptyque’s home collection, including cold diffusion products. A gift-wrapping station also provides personalisation stamping for boxes and pouches.
