Onitsuka Tiger opened its new flagship store in Milan on Friday, 11 September 2026, taking a two-storey space within Liberty Tower on Piazza Liberty in the city’s Duomo district.
Designed by architectural firm STUDIODINICATALDI, the store is based around Onitsuka Tiger’s Yellow Concept and brings together the brand’s runway collections, Japan-made DENIVITA™ denimwear and contemporary footwear. The interior combines references to Japanese heritage with Italian materials and detailing. The Yellow Concept also underpins Onitsuka Tiger’s Paris flagship on the Champs-Élysées, which opened in July 2025.

Japanese And Italian Materials
On the ground floor, yellow marble is paired with dark terrazzo flooring, balancing warmer Italian materials with a restrained Japanese-influenced approach. The mezzanine is dedicated to the brand’s NIPPON MADE series, with controlled lighting and a more subdued material palette intended to place greater emphasis on the craftsmanship and detailing of the collection.
The first floor takes a more chromatic approach, centred on Onitsuka Tiger’s signature yellow. Terrazzo flooring is combined with steel, fluted glass and concrete, giving the upper level a more expressive material character.

Café Onitsuka Tiger Extends Onto Piazza Liberty
The flagship also introduces Café Onitsuka Tiger on the ground floor, with a yellow outdoor seating area extending directly onto Piazza Liberty. The café concept was curated by Milan-based F&B consultancy Kazoku Studio and offers sweet and savoury items alongside matcha and coffee, available for dine-in and takeaway.
The café extends the store beyond conventional retail, bringing fashion, design and food and beverage together within the same space.

A Cultural Meeting Point
Drawing on the communal character of the Duomo area, Onitsuka Tiger conceived the flagship as a place for visitors to gather and encounter elements of both Italian and Japanese culture. The opening continues the brand’s development of distinct European retail formats, following projects including its Red Concept Store in Covent Garden.
The Milan flagship brings those retail and hospitality elements together within a single location on Piazza Liberty.
